Im not celebrating Cinco de Mayo today because there is nothing to honor in the memory of Mexico Independence. Mexico is attempting so hard to become dependent on the United States that it has became a laughingstock and shame among nations. Cinco de Mayo commemorates the victory of the Mexican militia over the French army at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
I will not be celebrating the day because there is no longer any Mexican national unity, there is no longer any Mexican national pride, and there is no longer any bravery among Mexicans. There is only the conspiracy by the Mexican government to subvert U.S. law so that the government of Mexico and the people of Mexico are dependent on the United States of America. There is nothing to celebrate.

Do the Mexicanos celebrate the 4th of July???
LOLOL
I am NOT clicking on that link.
Smart lady. Heck, I wouldn’t even click on the stinkin’ thing!
You’re not celebrating Cinco de Mayo?
What an odd coincidence; I’m not clicking on your blog to read the pap you consider pimp-worthy.
Tell me, why do think anyone on Free Republic would care about your opinion on Mexico or any other topic? Seriously, you’re an unknown nobody who doesn’t bother to participate in discussion on Free Republic, and only USES the website to try to drive traffic to your pathetic blog. That’s not exactly the formula for people to care about any of your opinions. It’s much more like the dork in high school who wouldn’t shut up explaining the simplest concepts. Wait a minute...Chuck is that *you*?

I’m celebrating. The odds of a Mexican in this state being legal/illegal is 50/50. I’m going to give em all a careful 5/5 look up and down real good. May even give one or two the stink eye.
Mexican independence day is September 16. Whoever wrote this knows nothing about Mexico, although I suppose it is a good thing that he has managed to identify the Battle of Puebla. Mexicans are as patriotic as we are. They fly huge flags in the Zocolo every chance they get. They love their country. If Mexicans are coming here and taking advantage of us in many and several different ways, IT IS BECAUSE OUR GOVERNMENT ALLOWS THEM TO DO IT. As for the illegal immigration, YOU ALWAYS GET MORE OF WHAT YOU REWARD. Again, OUR GOVERNMENT is the cause, the Mexicans are the effect.
As an American I have never felt any compulsion to celebrate or even note Cinco de Mayo.
On this day, my two kids wear their American flag type shirts to school. We don’t celebrate other countries holidays period. Last year, my son’s history teacher asked him why he didn’t like this “holiday”. Son’s reply: “So, Mexico beat the French. WHO hasn’t beaten the French?” ‘nuff said.
No Cinco De Mayo here either.
I was taught about the 6th of March 1836.
It’s also because Mexico’s government can’t figure out how to parlay their oil wealth into a decent economy with job opportunities for their own citizens.
They’d rather let the US be their safety valve.

In Mexico Cinco de Mayo is a minor holiday in one small chunk of the country. Here it’s a fake holiday spawned by Budweiser trying to increase sales in Corona back when they distributed it. It’s an American holiday pretending to be Mexican, celebrate it by eating a chimichanga, which is American food pretending to be Mexican.
I agree. Stinko De Mayo should be ignored by all real Americans.
They should change the name to “Mexican Dependence on the US Day”.
Are you pimping your blog? Why didn’t you post the whole thing?
