Dear Palin and Trump: Stop Whining. Thank You.
Right Across The Atlantic ^ | Michael van der Galien

Posted on 04/20/2011 10:46:08 AM PDT by Michael van der Galien

Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska, believes Donald Trump is being treated unfairly by the mainstream media. Politico reports that she especially takes issue with the MSM’s obsession with the ‘birther issue.’

Palin, who’s been trading kind words with Trump in recent days, said on Fox News that the real estate mogul isn’t pushing the birther issue and would talk about more substantial issues — if only the press would let him. Reporters, she said, are “hammering [Trump] about the one issue that he has brought up and not been shy about — that’s the birth certificate. … He’s answering reporters’ questions about his view on the birth certificate. And reporters turn that around and say that’s all he’s got.

Although Palin is obviously right that the media love to focus on this kind of thing, not they but Trump himself is to blame for the coverage he receives. If Trump is half as smart as he seems to believe, he’d simply start talking about other subjects, no matter the actual question asked.

Let’s imagine a reporter asks: “Tell us about the birth certificate.” Instead of giving the reporter what he wants, Trump could say: “Oh, I’d rather talk about the deficit. You see, Obama’s running this country into the ground” etc. yada yada yada. It’s not that difficult to do. Heck, professional politicians do it all the time.

I understand it that Palin, Trump and other Republicans believe the media are biased (because, well, they are), but it’s time for them to stop nagging about it. Yes mainstream reporters support progressive politicians. And yes, they’ll do everything in their power to hurt a conservative candidate’s chances.

They aren't whining. They're asking questions that the Press refuses to in hopes of getting another Conservative Tsunami started.
So quit whining yourself.

He has done that, but what actually gets reported for the most part, are his statements about the BC stuff. Are you paying attention at all?

While the Trump bulldozer is busy smashing the Obama birth mystique, Sarah is smart enough to not get in front of it but to step to the side while lending it a slight assist.

IMO, your complaints are shallow and unneeded. If you want to make yourself useful, why not take a bite out of Wonkette and their treatment of Trig Palin?

Hey Michael, stop carrying Obama’s water and start acting like an independent journalist.

Dear Michael van der Galien,

You want Palin and Trump to quit discussing the birth certificate issue but that is the topic of your post. Ironic isn't it?

I’m a New Media guy. I’m not a fan of the MSM. Heck, I became a (fulltime) blogger because the traditional media aren’t doing their job.

BUT: that doesn’t mean we should whine day in, day out. I’ve got nothing against Palin, and only a bit against Trump (because of his opportunism), but come.on. Don’t nag, define yourself, take charge and fight back. That’s all you have to do.

Trump is a trojan horse sabotuer or a very very very recent (like this year) convert to conservatism.

Palin is about the last person in the world to whine, and different as he is from her, I can’t imagine Trump whining either.

Um. The gov doesn’t whine. The gov has handled worse than this with far more grace than I know I for one would have.

I’m on record as being a “are you [bleeping] kidding me?” vote on The Donald, but I agree, he’s not a whiner.

All the whining about the whining is coming from the Left. To now join the Left in this tactic says more about the critics of Republicans than the Republicans themselves. There are some judgements the people can actually make for themselves without inspiration from some frustrated columnist. We can actually recognize the difference between candidates whining about their treatment, and simply stating the obvious.

Besides, this is fall out time. You have many disillusioned falling out of the democrat ranks who are giving us conservatives a look. They need to be reminded, by these candidates, from whence they came—a world of unfair media bias and attack on any Republican who deigns to open his mouth. Call it continuing education.

Obviously, Obama is the Whiner-in-Chief. But that doesn’t mean it’s perfectly alright when we’ve got our own whiners on the right side of the aisle or, more importantly, that whining works. It doesn’t; not in the long run, anyway.

We have to define the opponent and ourselves instead of nagging about how they’re defining us.
