Note by Kristinn: The ten minute video was shot from the periphery of the crowd at the Madison Tea Party rally during Sarah Palin's speech. The union members and their supporters did their best to drown out Palin with jeers, chants, horns, bells, boos, etc.
While Palin is not seen in the video, having watched her speech live I can appreciate how poised she was under the steady barrage of noise trying to shut her down or throw her off her game.
Andrew Breitbart, who introduced Palin at the rally, wrote at Big Government of the profane sexual abuse the union members and their supporters hurled at Palin and her family when they arrived for the rally:
But there was another group also there to greet us; the shock troops sent by Richard Trumka and president Obamas Organizing for America...
The TV cameras showing the speech caught little of this phalanx of thugs that we had to walk through. Middle fingers flew and the trendy talking point insult of Koch Suckers! was everywhere. Sarah Palin was called names that made me wonder if Bill Maher was writing for this mob. Apparently, women-hating sexual mockery is acceptable if directed at the right, even if that womans children are present.
Through it all, Palin triumphed, with Reuters headlining a commentary: Palin in Madison: Veni Vidi, Vici.
Sarah’s speech was great and seeing this video only makes it more powerful!
Tell the thugs to have a Koch and a smile and stfu!
“For anyone who doesnt like her voice...how else was she able to prevail over that vile thug mob?”
The fact complainers don’t like her voice just makes it sound all the sweeter to me. I’m just glad she doesn’t use Autotune ;)
Besides, I’m not voting for the tone/pitch/tambre of her voice. I’m voting for what that voice says...and the rest of her does.
Thanks, Kristinn.
I was there. I think that the numbers were almost even but there may have been slightly more of them. Certainly there were nowhere near as many as there were at the first Walker support rally, where I think they were 70 thousand.
Here’s the thing about numbers. There are 30 to 60 thousand students and burned out former students within miles of the capital. It is NOTHING to get 10 thousand of them to come to the capital. Nothing - just say they are handing out free marijuana.
Us Tea Partyers came from all over the state. Many by bus. I think there were easily 5 thousand. Not bad after months of intimidation.
Now lets talk about intimidation. Again, it wasn’t as bad as last time because the thug crowd was not as large. However, they were kind of pressing in on our perimeter. There were constant cowbells just a few rows behind me. There were drums that almost sounded like timpani. Horns constantly. Their chanting was LAME. They were chanting “go home” and “boring”. That’s ok, not vile, kind of childish. I guess come to think of it the Walker = Hitler signs were gone.
I personally witnessed what looked like a provocation with a grey haired old lady yelling and I think taking a swipe at a tea partier. Then her old man gave him a shove. I also talked to a couple of tea partiers that said they saw someone get slugged.
Tea Partiers being mean? Please. We had to wait for busses back to the rally point. There were some hecklers across the street. Some in revolutionary costume. (Imitation is the sincerest statement that we are da man). It finally came to a little taunting, you know “Prosser won”. That may have been to mean for the metrosexuals. Maybe they meant me. A metrosexual rode by slowly on his bike saying that ‘we wanted to take from the poor and give to the rich’. I responded with my ‘free beer’ chant. We also were pretty tolerant of a guy riding with bull horns and red pants on a two story bicycle with a broom for Sarah, kind of joked around with him.
You know, every time I see that name, I have to do a double take and remind myself. Of course, I lived in NYC with Mayor Koch for 12 years ...
“Well, Im a girl so he and big-mouth males like him, had better watch out, because I fight like a girl!”
CIVILITY!!! TEAPARTYVIOLENCE!!! CIVILI..TY...er...sorry...
Sorry. Been reading the AP article and it must have rubbed of on me for a second ;)
Then you’ll love to know President Palin is going to win in a landslide.
Pray for America
Sarah is the real deal! Now that we have victory in Wisconsin, we MUST get this woman in the white house, IF we want to change things on the Federal Level, If not, than the states will have to fix things(I.E. Wisconsin, Arizona, Utah), and the feds won't like that, hence my very bad mojo tag-line.
“She fights. Say what you want about her, she fights. She has more nerve than just about anyone I can think of in the GOP establishment. Where were they? Absent?”
It’s so refreshing to hear her say what so many have been thinking. I’m so tired of the usual, bland timidity of the establishment.
Wow — I take back my own personal comments on her voice quality. Who wouldn’t have to yell twice as loud to drown out those cows . . .
Buncha animals — DUMB animals.
Sarah — what SPUNK!!!
Thanks for the report & thanks for showing up to support Sarah and Gov. Walker!
No one in either party gives a better stem winder speech that Palin...
Damn...watched it all What a Woman
Thanks for the post & link.
BTTT
I disagree. You could kick the majority of today’s male GOP squarely in the groin with little effect at all ;)
