The current surge in gas prices is not due to crude oil supply or prices. It is due to refinery supply as refineries shift from winter formula to summer formula.
The funny thing is that of the 40 some odd formulas imposed by the EPA on specific local areas, there is no scientfic rhyme or reason to any of them. The approved formula is driven by political and bureaucratic decisions, not science.
The EPA could, with a straight face, say “Any of the approved formulas can be used anywhere until unemployment hits 4%” and the price would drop over 30 cents a gallon immediately and probably over 40 cents a gallon mid-term.

This guy is sounding more and more like Jimmy Carter in the 70s.
Carter’s attempt to get Americans to live with fuel shortages, gas lines, and higher energy costs, led to his defeat in 1980. It was losing tactic then, and it’s even more-so, now.
The fact that Obama is now doing precisely the same thing as Carter did, is proof positive that liberals never learn from history.
Just like Carter telling us we need to have our standard of living go down for the good of society !
As inflation causes America to flounder economically, so does the financial stability of the rest of the world. If we are buying less sweaters from Taiwan, people will starve who no longer make sweaters. This green fantasy world on the unicorn farm is going to cause a world wide mess.
