Rant against the machine
my tortured brain | 04/09/2011 | austingirl

Posted on 04/09/2011 8:42:31 AM PDT by austingirl

This is the email I am attempting to send to Boehner's email:

I am stunned that you caved into the radical leftists that have hijacked our republic, especially after the 2010 election results. The Tea Party principles are the majority view of the working slaves that fund your excesses. You are now part of the problem. An income tax is immoral. A tax on spending, called the Fair Tax, which actually taxes wealth, the underground economy and criminals is the moral way to fund the federal government.

Repeal the 16th amendment, dismantle the Department of Education, Energy, Fannie and Freddie and others too numerous to mention.. Disband the banking cabal known as the Fed which destroys the value if the American dollar. Stop federal meddling in every aspect of Americans' lives using the spurious justification of the Commerce Clause which was intended to keep interstate commerce REGULAR, not to regulate the amount of water in our toilets.

If you can't hold the puny and evil Harry Reid's feet to the fire over the 2011 budget, there is no hope that you can be effective preventing the raising of the debt ceiling and the bloated 2012 Obama budget.

If a working stiff making $30,000 a year borrowed $12,000 dollars a year and spent $42,000 a year - how long would they last? They would be homeless and destitute in one year. This is an exact parallel to Congress spending $1.40 for every dollar they take in. Either you are stupid, evil, or bent on destroying our nation.

The average wage slave is having difficulty buying food and gas and you failed every last one of us. The fact that we are not drilling our own oil and gas while the unqualified idiot in the White House gives billions to Brazil so we can overpay for their oil and further degrade America makes me want to howl at the moon. Using corn for ethanol rather than food is insanity.

I parted ways with the republicans when Bush didn't clamp our borders shut after 9/11 and when he and your ilk set out on a spending spree of other people's money. WE ARE OUT OF MONEY!

Shame on you!

Most sincerely, (my real name), an underemployed registered nurse in Austin, TX

Per the Constitution, any bill that originates and passes in the House, also need to be passed by the Senate. Republicans control only the House, not the Senate. Thusly 1/2 of one branch of gov’t

Well call me stupid I guess.
White House 1/3
Senate 1/3
House 1/3

If Boehner can get the GOP to stand together (all 241 or 242 - whatever is the accurate count) then the GOP has control of 100% of the House and any appropriation bill will be passed.

What is the 1/2 of 1/3 ---I JUST DON'T GET WHAT IT MEANS?

“do you think they’ll print it?”

I think you knew the answer to that question before you asked.

You are forgetting the Scotus. That is a branch of government.

Congress is a branch of government as is the White House.

1/2 of Congress is controlled by Republicans, hence 1/2 of 1/3

Apparently you are operating under the misconception that the Reps are fiscally responsible and want smaller government.

autingirl.....while I laud and agree with your sentiments entirely, MadIsh32 nailed it right off. We can’t get spit done until we ‘own’ the Senate and the WH as well as the House. That’s just a fact.

If nothing else, this should galvanize this country come November.

and what have YOU been doing for the past 30 years to see that we didn't end up with the people who now control our gov’t? And what are YOU doing right now - do you go to you local republican clubs, your country organization, serve on board, get elected to state conventions and help find, promote and get the best candidates elected?

Have you volunteered and worked on campaigns for your state and national reps and candidates?

I did all the above for decades.

Also, 30 years ago, as an investigative reporter, I infiltrated a ‘NO PRESS” meeting of the state's DSOC commies. (Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee.)

My story was a front page, center-fold story that laid out the Socialists scheme for taking over the government. The lead speaker was, at the time, our state's Senate Majority Leader - a ‘democrat.”

He stood at the podium, took a card from his pocket and said: “I, like you, am a card carrying Socialist.”

He then went on to lament the fact that their Knight in shining armor, Teddy K, had lost even their primary race. And then Reagan had just become president. This double blow had thrown a giant monkey wrench in their headlong rush to power.

The speaker, lamenting the setbacks, then said: “We will not now be able to come out as Socialists.” He then announced the new plan that they would be discussing: “We must infiltrate and take over the democratic party.”

That was 30 years ago. Where have you all been while they have been accomplishing this goal? (And can anyone deny their success?)

And now Boehaner is supposed to turn it all upside down in one fell swoop, with only one half of three houses?

Instead of trying to bury him and us along with him, how about getting your hiney’s out there - roll up your own sleeves and go to the meetings, join, volunteer, canvass.

Let's make damn sure he has the help he need down the road. And remember, until we DO get control of the senate too - and the WH - anything they CAN get done in the Congress, even though it sounds great, it can quickly drown in the Senate. If it also gets through the Senate, it can be vetoed by the POTUS.

So - you want things done? Find the new troops, get them elected, get them to Washington.

Naivete gets nothing done.

If you’re a Texan, you should know that circular firing squads aren’t the answer.

Save your power for the enemy.

There goes the ‘realistic’ thinking that they keep bringing up. Look, it is what it is and yes, technically you’re right. So what? The House is the ONLY agency that can enact legislation that is financial, period. The Senate is only allowed to vote on financial matters that House First passes. So, in the end, the HOUSE controls what gets put forth to the Senate and ultimately to what the President can either sign or Veto. So your argument, and thus Boehner’s, et al argument about caving is specious.

Instead of wasting your time and energy ranting against the people on your side, maybe you should focus your anger at who is to blame. The Obama Democrats

If you want to see who is most to blame, Look in the mirror. Those of you who spend all your time shooting your own political allies in the back rather then EVER spend any time fighting the Dems (who happen to be 100% opposed to your views)are the Democrat's best allies

Your understanding of the political process is sophomoric. It not that simple grasshopper.

Instead of wasting your time and energy ranting against the people on your side, maybe you should focus your anger at who is to blame for blocking what you want, The Obama Democrats

However, if you want to see who is most to blame, look in the mirror.

Those, like you, who spend all your time, day after day after day, shooting your own political allies in the back rather then EVER spend any time fighting the Dems (who happen to be 100% opposed to your views)are the Democrat's best allies

Too bad the shoot your own side in the back arm chair warriors still have not learned the hard facts.

US Politics is an evolutionary, not revolutionary, process. You will never get everything you want, and only what you want.

So instead of just sitting their spending all your time shooting your own political allies in the back, get off your butt and get in the game.

Tell me oh self-appointed master, what was sophomoric about saying the house controls financial bills. You are trying to tell me the Senate can initiate such are you? If so, you’re the idiot. You can make excuses for them, our RINOs and professional POLITICIANS, but you’re gonna end up with the same thing the rest of us gets placing our hopes on them - squat. Go the hell away...and think of something original to say against the multiple posters you chide....same exact sentences in two cases....a case of lazy ass just like your heroes.

Imagine what the deficit would be if the democrats still controlled the House.

Frankly, I believe it would be about the same.

Then you are complete political imbecile who has utterly NO clue at all about what is going on currently in US Politics.

So you really think you are helping?

You think spending all your time shooting your own side in the back "helps" move the political ball down the feild?

I want my representatives to do what they say when they campaign. Making excuses for posers isn't something that I'm prone to. That's why we got Bush (BTW a great terrorist protector, but terrible fiscal controller - increased our budget immensely and didn't do a whole lot for freedom with all three branches in his grasp). That's why we got McCain (a poser all the way round liberal and I think, genuinely crazy person).

Finally, that's why we have Obama now. And, Boehner's performance and that of his excusers is why we will have Obama for a second term if they aren't called to the carpet. Yes, I'm mad - I'm damned mad. They squandered the one bullet they have in this fight and any talk about the 'next big fight' will turn out like this one. I'm damned disappointed and don't much cotton to being called sophomoric for explaining what is true just because one might not like the truth I speak.

True, EXCEPT that all spending comes from the House...that gives them an edge.

It is now time to pull out the big guns and let them have it.
