Shut Gov't Down Until Obama Fully Funds Universal Access to Handguns

Abortion is an issue that people tend to have VERY strong feelings about. Over the last few years polling data has shown that Americans increasingly believe that abortion should be rare and only allowed in very few instances. To many Democrats, however, the right to an abortion is not only sacred (like Wicca-level sacred), but to deny access to a woman simply because she cannot afford the procedure is anathema to what America stands for. in case you didn't hear, we now stand for taxpayer-funded abortions.

This is how we got to a point where the government will shut down because Democrats cannot support defunding a profitable private abortion provider. Yes, Planned Parenthood provides ancillary services such as pap smears and birth control, but so do millions of clinics, schools and hospitals. The issue here is whether the Democrats are so tied to abortion that they would be willing to bankrupt America to prove it.

The answer is clearly yes. President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Reid and House Minority Leader Pelosi would rather America go broke than not provide your money to something that many of us find objectionable and that can survive with private donations and charging more for their services.

I have a solution to break the stalemate. Many Conservatives (including myself) believe we have a right to own a gun. We further believe this right is actually contained in a founding document called the US Constitution. Sadly, many Americans are struggling financially and cannot afford a gun.

Here is a clear cut right that many poor Americans cannot avail themselves of. Until President Obama and the Democrats who control the US Senate agree to provide funds so that every American who wants a gun can procure a safe weapon (and that this purchase remain a private matter...
