Ban Koran-Burning?

Should the burning of Islam’s holy book, the Koran, be banned? This is the question many in Washington are asking, following last weekend’s deadly rampage in Afghanistan. On March 20, Pastor Terry Jones, who heads the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Fla., presided over a Koran-burning. The actions of this crazy church leader set off cascading demonstrations across Afghanistan. Afghan President Hamid Karzai publicly denounced it, fanning the flames of religious hatred.

That someone or some people are even thinking of banning the burning of the Koran is absolutely insane.

They will find other reasons to be offended - they always do.

Would they add a ban on burning the Bible or the flag in this? Burning the flag has been defined as “free speech”.

Why not ban the media’s reporting on it instead if free speech means so little?

I know, I know. “Free speech for me, but not for thee.”

Absolutely not was my first thought also.

If it is legal to burn the American flag because of freedom of speech, then it is legal to burn the Koran or Bible or anything else.

God bless the first amendment.

Hah. We both know the answer to that is no.

These savages have such a problem with diversity. :)

That question is actually asking: Should we ban the first Amendment?

If American’s weren't allowed to own a koran, we wouldn't have to worry about any Crazy Extremists burning one of them...

The day this muzzie loving President, and weak-kneed Congress of ours pass any such law, we should all run out, buy a qu'rap and BURN IT in the middle of the street, all while throwing candy and uulating like a fat, ugly, missing teeth fat palestinian broad on 9-11.

Just my humble opinion...

As long as anyone can burn any book then there is nothing wrong with it.

As soon as there is a book you can’t burn, then something is wrong.

Gen. Petraeus should keep his mouth shut. He is spending so much time with the OBAMA crowd these days, it is corrupting his judgment. Did he condemn the killing of innocent women?

I expect crap from the likes of John Kerry, Harry Reid and Lindsey Graham

We need to understand that we can not stand down to the intolerance and terrorism of Islam. The UN people who were killed were not killed by an obstinate minister but by an ideology that waits for these occurrences in order to set an example.

How many Muslims spoke out against the murders? I did not hear any. Where are the moderate Muslim leaders? Have you ever heard of a Conservative Muslim leader? The Muslim masses commit atrocities, all over the world, the leaders stay silent and we are to believe this is a peaceful religion?

Christians and Jews are murdered daily all over the world and we get upset over the burning of the Koran that espouses these actions?

We need to fight back against an ideology that wants to subjugate us not see how to appease it.

The ko-ran presents only 3 options for non-muslims: conversion, submission and payment of a “protection payment” or death.

This means that islam is a transnational cult with genocidal intent.

By humoring them - in any way whatsoever - we are simply signalling to a bully attacker that we are afraid of them, which simply invites attack. They think we are too nice for our own good and view that as a weakness to be exploited.

We simply need to send a signal that we “don’t care”, that we would just as soon shoot them as look at them without even really thinking about it. The minute a bully sees evidence that they are going to face violent retribution from a person who would enjoy fullfilling the responsibility of defending themselves - actually enjoy inflicting pain and death on their enemies - they know they have an adversary where they must back off and be friends, then they pause and rethink their plans. Even though they can never be trusted, even after defeat.

Christians are called to live with their neighbors peaceably inasmuch as it is up to them. In this case, it is not possible. This is the case where there is a horde descending upon you and you must fight or die.

Every person has an inherent right of self defense. The Bible teaches us that we have a responsibility of self-defense. And self-defense sometimes requires combat which is an extremely ugly business. But the most violent, heroic and overwhelming end of combat is the shortest and least painful road to victory over one’s enemies. Therefore, it is absolutely, unequivocally, far and away the most loving and caring outcome for the innocent.

"If American’s weren't allowed to own a koran,"

Ban the Koran!!!!!

or have Koran Control. You can't buy more than one a year and only under the supervision of traitors like Eric Holder, Harry Reid, John Kerry , Chuck Schumer or even better, Lindsey Graham.

Should the burning of Islam’s holy book, the Koran, be banned?

I believe it already is in some parts of the world. They ban a whole bunch of stuff in those parts of the world. Was Jones' Koran written in English? If so how did these rioters know it was a Koran? Maybe Jones was burning a copy of Huckleberry Finn and calling it a Koran.

If it was written in Afghan, how would I know it was a Koran. It might have been an Ask Debbie instructional on how to make afghans and other usable textiles from something that isn't camel hair.

Do we know that these rioters can even read in any language? People who mount a destructive riot because of something some nitwit does and says several thousand miles away that has no effect on one on millionth of one percent of existence aren't likely the kind of people to while away evenings reading a good book.

Why would anyone discuss such things as banning Koran burning to pacify people so backward that killing them improves their existence?

Accordingly, the ko-ran in the White House should be strapped to the front of a Tomahawk missile and delivered straight to mecca. That would send the message that we will not submit to them. They can “outrage” all they want; we can simply take on any “outrage” that comes, we have all the arsenal we need, we just need to get up off the couch and do it. They would not even attack us with armies on American soil, because they have no way to get here. They will simply send terrorists, which, if we had any guts, would be quit simple to deal with. Simply deport all muslims and do not allow any more in.

Within 2 years we could have a wonderful peace, with virtually no “crazies” to contend with. We are afraid of a boogeyman that does not exist. There has been a war going on, to one degree or another, between islam and the west for hundreds of years, and it will not stop until islam is abandoned to the dustbin of history.

I don’t think you can, or should, ban koran-burning - not if you wish to retain any credibility as a “free” society. I think it’s highly unwise - people shouldn’t do it - but I don’t believe it can be proscribed.
