Robert Siesky was my wife's step father. He was in a coma the last 2 months. He never talked about his service until he was in the hospital. He told me he worked on tanks and landed at Omaha Beach. I got a copy of his DD214 (I'm not sure if they were called 214s in 1946 when this was dated)which is very faded. He told me he was in Europe his whole service. I need help in understanding the awards listed because there is not a complete database on the internet that provides citations of each medal and there are no comma's between the awards so I don't know the exact names. This is what it states: GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL AMERICAN THR SER MED MERITORIOUS UNIT AWARD EAME THR SER MED W/3 BRONZE STARS VICTORY MEDAL. I would appreciate any help in determining what this means. He has no surviving family members who know his Army Service. The unit name reads: BTRY B 559th AAA AW BN. I doubt if there are too many Vets who were members of his unit... but maybe. Thank you to anyone who can help be with information. He wanted to be buried at the Veterans Memorial Cemetary by Lake Mead in Nevada.
] Good Conduct Medal
2]American Theater Service Award, Mediterranean[?]
3]Meritorious Unit Award [unit citation]
4]European/Mediterranean Theater Service Award w/ 3 bronze stars [on the ribbon, like on a Viet Nam Campaign ribbon]

\With his 214, you have all you need to have him buried at the Veteran’s Cemetery. The VA counselors there can help you with that, as should almost any of the funeral home directors in the area.
May he rest in peace.
Condolences to you and your wife, and may he rest in peace.
