Which Republican Presidential Contender Said: "We must have universal healthcare?"

"I’m a conservative on most issues but a liberal on health. It is an unacceptable but accurate fact that the number of uninsured Americans has risen to 42 million. Working out detailed plans will take time. But the goal should be clear: Our people are our greatest asset. We must take care of our own. We must have universal healthcare."

That was then. This is now...
...Trump on ObamaCare

If I run and if I win there will not be ObamaCare because it’s ruining a lot of companies. I have friends who own small companies, and they’re going to close those companies up because they can’t afford ObamaCare. It will not exist very long if I’m president...

No, most big business (especially Trump) enjoys the cronyism and special favors.

It’s small business—the business that runs our country—that wants healthcare off their back.

Face it, Trump is an opportunist. He goes the way the wind blows.

We need a rock for the white house this time around. No Hillary, nothing wishy washy or squishy like Trump.

Someone who is consistent, and will fight for what they believe.

“and then supported Hillary in the 08 primaries.”

Hell, I supported her in the primary too. And the only reason I voted for McCrazy was that Palin was on the ticket.

Are those 42 million people being denied healthcare? That’s the first thing to look at, and I don’t see it going on. They may be denied the kind of healthcare Trump gets, but they probably don’t drive the cars, or fly in the planes, or eat the meals that Trump enjoys. Let’s make all that universal too. Let’s just declare that all the good things Trump enjoys should be a basic human right for everyone, including good dental care. We could write up another bill of rights that covers all the rights requiring the redistribution of wealth. Call it the rights to theft bill. My other question to Trump is if he is ready to give up his privileged healthcare and downgrade to the “universal healthcare?” Does he want to live in our universe, or just make the rest of us downgrade our universe?

Yeah right, and he’s a “sudden convert” on abortion, too, both issues without which he can’t win the Republican base. How convenient is that! Follow the money ...

The same one that let Ghadaffy camp out on his lawn awhile back?

Khadafy booted from Camp Trump

Trump may have "done the right thing" when it comes to this incident, but I still don't trust him. He's playing a big game with the birth certificate issue.

Usually when I debate someone and get them to change their mind I tell them, “Too late! Wrong answer the first time. It is my duty as a FReeper to shun you in perpetuity!”

So the whole thing about politicians flip-flopping wildly about like a land-bound fish, just to get a few more votes, is not familiar to you? If someone who had been siding with and funding your enemies came knocking on your door and told you he’s now your best friend forever, with no explanation for his “sudden conversion,” would you be entitled to a little doubt? Or would you rather go up against your enemy with the aid of one who was your long-time proven friend? This is not a High School popularity contest. The one who will lead us back from the wilderness must be someone who has earned our trust, and that is not Trump.

Very few people are unable to get health care if they truly try to do so. No doubt there are some, but the number is nothing like what we are led to believe.

You’d think someone as successful as Trump would understand that lacking insurance is not the same as lacking health care.

Trump may have "done the right thing" when it comes to this incident...

Actually, it was "town officials" and "building inspectors" who did the right thing, according to the article. In fact, Trump's spokesperson initially denied that the property was being used by Ghadaffy.

Lots of strawmen there to contend with. And I’m not even a proponent of Trump. But he can jump into the campaign same as the rest if he so desires.

We already have universal healthcare. What we don't have is universal health insurance.

Let’s not be foolish. Hillary’s allegiance to Saul Alinsky hasn’t changed just because Obama eclipsed her in community organizing.

We already have universal healthcare. What we don't have is universal health insurance.

The last time Trump considered a run, he spoke about universal, centralized, government controlled health insurance.

Link

He describes a centralized agency that offers choice.

Gee thanks for the "offered choice" oh centralized gatekeeper.

Unbelievable.
