Here is an open letter sent today by the rabbi of a Chicago-based modern Orthodox synagogue.
Dear Friends and Friends of Israel,
Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured in Jerusalem and with their families after the cowardly bombing earlier today near the central bus station. We are also following closely the missile attacks in Ashkelon and Beer Sheva. I can only speak for myself in that "I wish I were there." I wish I were in Jerusalem to walk its holy streets and show solidarity with everyone who lives in the capital of the Jewish State. I wish I were in Beer Sheva with the families who have just moved there, some from our shul, and with its brave citizens who are building up the City of Abraham to be a shining, cosmopolitan metropolis. I wish I were in Ashkelon, to enjoy its beaches and enjoy the growth of the city that used to be one of the great enemy cities of the ancient Philistines. I wish I were in our homeland to show the world and all those who wish to snuff out our Jewish spirit, that "Am Yisrael Chai" and "Eretz Yisrael Chai"! But from Chicago we can pray and voice our outrage, and on behalf of the Lopatins and thousands and thousands of others, I declare to Hamas and Hizbolla: "We are on our way to Israel! It may take a bit more time, but we are headed to Eretz Yisrael to continue the flowering of the Jewish state, which is more tolerant to every minority than any state anywhere nearby. We put our faith and trust with God, and you, Hamas and Hizbolla and all those who wish to destroy Israel, will not succeed, and you will not stop us!"

Do you think that the bombing was caused by Jewish votes for Democrats?
Nope, and I fully sympathize with Israel. However, I also took this opportunity to be snarky to one of our own citizens whose people are enablers of the democrats and other subversives in this nation, all the while asking why they are persecuted so around the world. I wish him well. I also wish Jews in this country would stop their habit of enabling extremists.
100% of the Jews in America who were eligible to vote could have voted for McCain in 2008 and Obama still would have won.
