Palin Strikes Back at Griffin: ‘She’s a has-been’(w/Video)

Kathy Griffin has never been one to shy away from controversy, especially controversy that involves Sarah Palin, even going as far as making weight jokes about Palin’s daughter, Bristol. It was also recently announced that Griffin would be playing a “a middle-aged ‘recent Tea Party candidate and home-schooler — a Sarah Palin type” on the hit show “Glee.”

One can imagine that all this might be wearing on Palin and in an interview with Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro, Palin let lose saying:

“You know Kathy Griffin can do anything to me or say about me, because you know, she’s kind of this – she’s a fifty year old adult – boy really is what she is. She’s kind of a has-been comedian and she can do those things to me. I would just ask for respect of my children. As she had stated on CNN that her new year’s resolution was to destroy my 16 year old daughter – that takes it a little too far. Kathy pick on me, come up to Alaska and pick on me, but leave my kids alone.”

It doesn't matter. The whole liberal "comedy" schtick is so ugly and base and brutal that the whats are mere details. It will fail ultimately because it repels something in most people. It's doomed to fail, the same way that communism is doomed to fail. Palin provides material? Subject takes material and generates more ugly, base, and brutal garbage, and one by one, more individuals recoil in horror.

I'm okay with that.

Buy not reacting or giving the attacks validity Bush won the controversy before they even started. And the American Public gave him greater respect for his steady temperament.

You give the American public too much credit. They certainly should have given Bush greater respect for his refusal to take on all of his family's detractors, but they didn't. His dignified refusal to engage in those squabbles only made the brain-dead American public hate him more.

I have accused you of nothing. Don’t know your name. Neither does anyone else here. Comments about anonymous individuals. Actionable, I don’t think so. However, my point has been made.

I never said there isn’t a double standard - but that isn’t the point.

She can fight for her kids all day every day if she wants, but do we really want to witness this time and again for how many years?
Is she really going to respond to EVERY Kathy Griffin out there?
This is what Kathy Griffin does for a living. I’m sure she is ecstatic her mark has taken the bait.

where did you see me claim everyone shares my view?
I thought that’s what forums were all about - sharing different views.

If a seriel agitator who loves to drum up drama tries to elicit drama out of me - I get pleasure out of depriving them of what they want.

As far as palin being hurt by resigning, the effects of that probably won't show until/if she declares her candidacy.

They would have hurted her in the hours following her resignation. Everybody and their Momma pronounced Palin DEAD. But look where she is now.

The MSM has much in store for her if she does enter the race. I think they hope she does. They took her down quite handily in ‘08.

Yeah, she's shaking in her boots. What are they gonna say this time, a caribou is Trig's real father?

As far as her popularity, she is still has a long way to go if she hopes to win. Those are the simple facts. America is not hard core Conservative. If anything, they have slipped even further into the Liberal Socialist pit.

And your suggestion seem to be we need to run another nice, pleasant moderate again who'll work with Democrats and maybe give us a token tax credit or two. No thanks. I want a Republican who is willing to go to war with the Democrats and Left or I'm staying home.

Recent polls are not looking real good.

Polls don't mean squat. What part of "no declared candidates" do you not understand? Why are you buying into this horse-race narrative set by the media?

Of course this is way too early and the condition of the economy is still not clear, but the powers in Washington can postpone the inevitable until after Obama gets reelected. They can certainly keep the false numbers up to fool the ignorant public.

Obama will win if another nice, pleasant moderate Republican is the nominee. Now if you want a Republican who'll play patty-cake with the Democrats and then take the fall so Obama can win again, that's your problem. But I'm supporting a warrior who has been through the fire already and is battle-tested.

I'm sure you know this Demographic well yourself. All this anger and contempt among fellow Conservatives certainly won't do us much good either.

Ah yes, civility. Go be civil elsewhere.

Did you miss the context of the question?

I never said Palin can’t voice her opinion.
I am not envious of her.

I simply think a pi$$ing war with Kathy Griffin is time wasted with no upside whatsoever.

This is what Griffin does - it’s how she makes a living. Palin is helping her stay in the spotlight.

So why didn't Palin "help her stay in the spotlight" when Griffin was going ice-fishing with Levi and all that other crap?

Griffin is going after Willow; Palin responded by basically telling her to be a woman and just go after me. Why is this so hard to understand?

Look at what Governor Scott Walker is doing here in WI.
He certainly isn't being nice so the NY Times will like him.
Americans traditionally loves a fighter who speaks plainly without the BS. This is why Palin is so popular among the conservative base. Nobody likes wimps, which is why Bush I lost and GWB barely won both of his elections.

More "above the fray" and "civility" crap. Thanks for buying into the Left's premise about what conservatives need to do. You finally have a Republican who doesn't want to play the Left's game and all of a sudden you want to resort to the same failed reaching out crapola that has plagued Republicans for decades.

BRAVO! WELL SAID!

Americans need to see the Republican party as the antidote to big-government liberalism. They need to hear and see the Republican party hold up the banner -- fly the flag, raise the signal, call to muster -- that THIS is where you come if you want government to basically leave you and the fruits of your labor alone, to get out of your hair, to stop regulating and taxing every move you make.

It's an image, a concept, and it was abandoned by Bush (and indeed, denigrated by the smug, condescending, stupid "compassionate conservative" spin). I see ONE REPUBLICAN who has gone international in flying the flag of the concept. An example: contrast Michele Obama's from-on-high nutrition advice and counsel for American parents, with Palin's firing back with a comment on the joys of eating s'mores from a campfire, the action being none of the government's business. That's not just telling what the Republican party should be about and what so many Americans want it to be about, it's showing it.

This really isn't about Obama or even about Palin, it's about reclaiming the Republican banner and using it to represent the majority of responsible, legitimate voting Americans. Liberals are the minority.

You're opinion is really nothing more than recycled narratives pushed by the Left to stop Palin, since they're still smarting from when Palin resigned and pulled the rug out from under her.

Nobody is disagreeing with the fact that Palin quit. All we're saying is how can it be a negative when it clearly hasn't hurt her, given the success she's had afterward?

You are exactly right about conservatives being sick getting kicked around.
I’m glad you brought up the example of Scott Walker.
Someone asked him what he thought of the Hitler signs, and he said something like “I’m not Hitler, I’m just trying to balance the budget”
Which is different than saying “those people out there are knuckledragging whackos”

Now - it may be true they are knuckledragging whackos - but when he declined to engage in mutual insults he showed maturity WHILE he defended himself. Cool as a cucumber.

Palin? She engaged in cattiness with her “has-been” remark, and not just with anyone - with a woman who LOOOVES a good catty hissy fit.
Palin could have done a Walker-like statement.

And so do most regular, moral Americans who are more or less politically ambivalent -- they see little difference in either party. But they know what they want -- LESS DAMNED GOVERNMENT, FEWER DAMNED LIBERALS. You'd be surprised how often the word "liberal" crops up as a derogatory on non-conservative websites' comments sections for news stories. Just Regular American readers.

They're almost as inspiring to read as YOUR POST, EEE! Now I'm going to finish reading it!

I didn’t say she should remain above the fray. But the more Palin gets involved in these kinds of interactions, the more she looks like a celebrity and less like a presidential candidate.

Palin needs to learn to keep her mouth shut. The Left will attack regardless. Look what they did to Bush and his daughters.

Bush kept his mouth shut. What a winning strategy that was for him. The media has bashed him for 11 years now.
