It shouldn’t surprise me the new levels of hatred that conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh finds each week for his radio show or that there is an audience out here who actually finds him credible.
Like a bully last week, Limbaugh took aim at America’s First Lady Michelle Obama. The former-fat guy criticized the First Lady’s efforts to curb childhood obesity by pointing out her diet and criticized her “Lets Move” campaign which encourages youths to eat more fruit and vegetables and to include exercise in their daily lifestyles. How pathetic, Rush.
Like many, I admire the First Lady and believe she’s an inspiration for women around the world. The First Lady has brought elegance and style back to the White House, a combination that’s been missing for decades. She is counted among the 10 best-dressed women in the world and she’s been compared to former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy due to her sense of style. While Michelle Obama does have access to designer clothes, she’s shown ordinary women that they can shop stylishly from off the rack. The First Lady has brought color and vibrancy to the White House.
The former-fat guy then pointed to the White House Super Bowl party menu as ammunition. Stop! Rush.
If you live in America there’ are basically two very large feasting days — Thanksgiving Day and Super Bowl Sunday — and you tell yourself you’ll control your eating through both. Indulging in either of these events doesn’t contradict the First Lady’s message on fitness, because she’s advocating a lifestyle change — the Super Bowl is a makeup day.
I’m a midwesterner, as is the First Lady, and Super Bowl Sunday parties here in Wisconsin include food, beer, chips and friends getting together having fun. Let me tell you, if you’re invited to a Super Bowl party with wings, burgers, pizza, and bratwurst on the menu, it’s a step up.
Stumbling further into his hater attack, Limbaugh said the First Lady doesn’t project the image of a “Sports Illustrated swimsuit model.” Let me see, the basic requirements for being a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model are that you must be really young, super-thin, be able to pout and stick your butt out for cheeky pictures, and be able to wear a skimpy swimming suit.
The First Lady is a mother of two young children and wife to one of the most powerful men in the world. At age 46, Michelle Obama is fit and she bears her sculpted arms as proof she’s energetic and that she operates on a much higher intellectual level than Limbaugh. A college dropout who flunked all of his classes, Limbaugh is proof that a minimally functioning brain operates on a scary level.
So to the haters: First Lady Michelle Obama is a Princeton University alumni and a Harvard Law School graduate .... try to obtain it if you can. She’s brought style and elegance back to the White House. Women strive to be her and she’s become an inspiration for millions of women of color around the world who share sisterhood in her ebony beauty. Believe it.
In today’s society where women are often the feeder for bad jokes, conservative talk-show insults, and degrading rap lyrics, young girls have a new role model …. one who’s setting standards across the board.
Now roll with it.
Remember, they’ll always be former-fat guy haters and conservative talk show fanatics out there who hate any progress made by women, but to your comfort, just remember they’re operating on a minimally functioning brain level.
Don’t you just love how these people have to spend a column talking about someone else or they have no original thought of their own to fill the space?
Small people talk about individuals. This person is very, very small.
Laura Bush was the definition of style and class. She made sure she was never photographed in pants that were so tight her underwear lines shined through. If I recall correctly, she also never sported a camel toe.
Well, we have Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving, and the 4th of July cookout, but the football game never really hit our family radar. And that doesn't count the Lutefisk Dinner down at First Lutheran....although I don't think anyone ever got fat off of lutefisk (maybe it's the butter they dip it in).

Considering the Midwest has been stretched from Pittsburgh to Spokane maybe, its a good thing, We'll need the extra room if her hindness comes back. But I doubt it, because she was never proud of America until her ol'man was running for his current job, and most Midwesterners (that huge swath of red dominated map come election time) are pretty darned patriotic.

Well, two out of three ain't bad, as they say. You can put a skimpy bathing suit on purt'near anything that won't fight back with vigor, and she's a natural for the 'cheeky' part--no apparent effort required.
As for comparing one's fashion sense to Jackie Onassis, well you can compare just about any two things, that does not imply they are similar, at least not in this case.
After all, who am I going to believe, the writer or my own, aching, lying eyes?
I'd gladly ignore the subject, but for the constant braying of the media which has discarded the muteness of discretion with insisting on obvious falsehood.
If they would just stop trying to tell us up is down, their ratings might go the way they want them to.
The writer appears to think that repeating ‘fat guy’ and ‘hater’ will somehow outrage the conservatives who read this. All it did was make me think “That’s all you got?”

Michelle is just a modern ‘princess that lives the philosophy of Queen Marie Antoinette when she learned the peasants had no bread said “Qu’ils mangent de la brioche”
[Let them eat cake] Our modern princess with “over-the-top” vacations is obliviousness to the economic disaster and middle class suffering her husband has orchestrated in our nation.
Michelle looks like she was dressed by a K-Mart fashion expert. She has no sense of style or grace. She wears all the wrong kinds of clothes that call attention to her physical defects including her enormous booty call, expanding gut, receding boobs, and ubiquitous “boob belt”. I guess she thinks the boob belt keeps the fat from migrating from her top to her bottom. In some of her more informal poses she resembles Buckwheat of the “Little Rascals” movie comedies from the Hal Roach Studios.
To magnify her physical flaws and fashion disasters, she then proceeds to lecture Americans about obesity and what to eat. Michelle, the National Nanny, is getting to be a tiresome bore. The only thing she lacks is Fran Drescher’s (TV’s “The Nanny”) nasal, whiny, NYC twang. She certainly doesn't have Fran's good figure to show off outlandish clothes.
Thus the writer displays her own lack of intelligence.
Those wonderful toned and "sculpted" arms of Michelle's are getting to be a real bore. I don't want to hear about them nor read about them. I am extremely sick of seeing them!
Anyone who calls Michelle Obama elegant or who says she has a sense of style is at best delusional and at worst outright lying. She has not one iota of either elegance or style. I had no admiration for Jackie Kennedy as a person, but she did know how to dress and to present herself.
I've seen no evidence of Michelle Obama's great intellect, either. Thanks to Affirmative Action, the mere possession of a degree from any school but particularly from a Ivy League school is no proof of anything but that they found her sufficiently black. Now, if her dissertation were available to be read we might be able to form an opinion of her intellect, but we can't do that, now, can we?
It's also pretty common knowledge that her last job was basically a political appointment, a means to give her a high-sounding title and a high salary for doing little to nothing (since the job was eliminated when she left it, or so I understand).
Of course, Rush makes a lot more money. He's also actually worked for it. The fact that he had a brief, not very successful college career is not something he exactly hides. I have heard him talk about it very frankly more than once, and have heard him express that his father was terribly disappointed that he did not attend college. Rush didn't drop out because he is stupid, he dropped out because he was interested in other things. He has also talked about his failures on his way to his great success.
I can't help but think that if perhaps the Obamas had encountered some failures and setbacks (I don't count skin pigmentation as being either of those) along the way to their great "success" in achieving the White House, we might not all be forced to endure the spectacular fail that is the Obama presidency.
