Terror threats appear to be on the rise as FEMA has rushed a $1 Billion order of dehydrated food in the event of attacks on domestic targets in the US.
This is also coming on the heels of one of the largest terror drills performed by the US Navy on American soil, as Operation Solid Curtain is taking place this week.
In an article Tuesday from the Beaufort Observer, many of the largest suppliers of dehydrated foods in the country are dropping their distributors and customers to dedicate their resources to supplying a billion dollar FEMA request and purchase.

FEMA is really pumping up the articles for the New Madrid to go. There are tons of articles out there just in the past week.

My first thought was that obooga is trying to prevent the public from preparing
The trash administering our public affairs smells a coming revolt against their stupid management.
My husband and especially, my son, think I’m nuts. I think they’re going to think I’m a genius soon.
You can bet King Obama and his queen won’t be eating this crap.
What if warehouse workers and truckers strike in solidarity with the public union workers? What happens to food distribution then?
I guess it goes to the union, then.
We’d be screwed.
I don’t think they’d be in solidarity with the union workers though.
“Ive stocked up on Rice, Beans, flour and ammo. costco was packed last weekend. I think allot of people are getting nervous.”
We just took delivery of our Big Berkey water filter and the grain mill should be here tomorrow.
Ask yourself how much of this FEMA order do you think will be distributed to “the folks” when the SHTF?
The govt will not save you in a really bad situation. Stock up now and get 12 mos worth. You are going to need it.
Great book.
Yep, otherwise they wouldn't be dependent on the government.

Both have tips and instuction on dehydrating your own food, which you can then vaccuum seal in jars add an oxygen absorber and you have some long term storage food fairly cheap. I myself catch frozen vegs on sale and dehydrate them saves time! Kroger/Smith has them 10 for 10 right now.

This article is a bit misleading. FEMA does stock MRE’s in limited quantities but they don’t have millions of them sitting around in warehouses (FEMA closed several of their storage depots a few years ago). FEMA’s basic policy with supplies is to have contracts in place to deliver when needed not before. This sounds like an RFP for a worst case scenario not an actual order that needs to be filled. If you read the comments section you will see a post by a food service person who basically debunks the inference of the article. Another non-fact in the article is that FEMA raised alert levels. FEMA has nothing to do with alert levels, they are set by Homeland Security of which FEMA is one part.
New Madris Fault bicentennial quake? Saw FEMA looking for alternative suppliers of energy to TX, AL, GA, SC, and NC, as well. Out to NC? I thought that was crazy. Then it dawned on me.... they are concerned that a NMZE would wack the Eastern Interconnect. No power, no central communications, no refrigeration, no working pumps, ...etc.
Remember, we Texans who are ‘independent of the grid!’ had to buy juice from Mexico while we were blacking out all over the state a few weeks ago, to tremendous frozen pipe damage.
The Texas Interconnect being self-sufficient isn’t true anymore.
So you think it might just be part of this exercise:

The purpose of National Level Exercise 2011 (NLE 2011) is to prepare and coordinate a multiple-jurisdictional integrated response to a national catastrophic event specifically a major earthquake in the central United States region of the New Madrid Seismic Zone (NMSZ).
