Positive Racial Contributions - Completing the Family of Man.

You know that it is a common issue all over the world that each ethnic group can look at any other ethnic group and find a characteristic that may not fit their own mindset of normal behavior. For example, group (A) may like to sit on the ground, eat their chicken soup out of one big community bowl and chant about the earth, wind and fire, while group (b) prefers to sit on couches, eat their buffalo wings and watch an Earth, Wind and Fire concert on HDTV. Neither one is right or wrong, yet we can easily let petty things like this drive a wedge between us.

What do you think God's intentions were when he created such a racially and culturally diverse world? That is not an easy question to answer. However I do believe that each ethnic group was blessed with talents and unique abilities that were meant to complete the family of man, and enrich the global community. Keeping in mind that we are not bound to the legacy of our ancestors, individually we can aspire to what our hearts desire.

I am just going to name a few examples of what I am trying to convey. This is not an all inclusive list. I will call these positive racial contributions (others might call it racism).

Japanese (or Oriental Natives) - math, innovation, detail and focus

Mexican (or South American Natives) - horticulture, metallurgy, patience

African (or Black Natives) - athletics, rich textiles, endurance

German (or European Natives) - engineering, science, determination

English - Scottish (Northern Europe Natives) - business administration, animal husbandry, methodology

America is a huge laboratory where we can bring all these talents and traits together, blessing each other and the world.

What are your thoughts? Can you add to these or offer your own observations to the gifts and dominant positive traits of any other people groups. There are so very many. What about your own ancestry?

Yup - and we are all decendents of Noah and his sons.

God made us different, but it is Christ that binds us. People who don't share my race, but have given their hearts to Christ, are my brothers.

No implications intended. I agree, cultures can make a big difference. Yet, I believe that we were created in God’s image. And as his offspring we have an inborn desire to create as well. Perhaps I pride myself on being simple minded. I have many more questions than answers.

I'm struggling to know how to respond. OKay, first, I'll say:

"They're a very musical people, aren't they?"

Second, I'll say "who cares?"! :))) No one is going to take someone trying to boil the races down to their various "usefulnesses" as a helpful thing. I see you want to contribute in a positive meaningful way, and I shouldn't just put that down.

Ultimately, there is huge friction because of the differences in the races. Are you just ignoring that friction and instead saying "let's celebrate our differences"? Isn't that just muliculturalism?

What about the really hard stuff? Like that jews have won more nobel prizes and cured more diseases per capita than anyone else? Or that the British invent a huge amount of stuff? But if you comment on those things, isn't everyone else going to be put out that you're saying they aren't as smart? Or what if you say that black people are good at athletics? Isn't everyone else going to be put out by that? Maybe some things are just best left alone?

Have you studied some of the existing scientific theory of the races? Eg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mongoloid

I still say if you're going to deal virtually exclusively with racial issues, you should buy a different $5 domain name

I think you are starting to understand the spirit in which I wrote the article. I do not deny the friction between different people groups. I think the heart of the conflicts we have are more spiritual than cultural. I was hoping people would contribute more positive attributes that our ancestors exhibited when relating to one another.

Japanese (or Oriental Natives) - math, innovation, detail and focus

Math was developed by inhabitants of present day Iraq, India, Turkey and Greece.
