Palin convinced me she was an inept candidate when she ran for VP. She also has made several grave errors since, showing very poor judgment. (No need to list or debate them, they are what they are.)

I agree that the country IS in deep trouble, which is why we cannot run another candidate who is so widely polarizing, even among her own party or ideology.

There is still ample time to pick a candidate. We do stand in solidarity to pick a real winner this time, which will emerge when the election season starts. And there are many good ones out there who can win.

christie, thune and ryan have zero appeal, and even though christie has made some waves, he is considered to RINO’ish on base conservative issues.

>> Gallagher is the weakest talk host that is nationally syndicated <<

Agreed. It baffles me that Salem -- which otherwise has a pretty good host lineup -- can't find a higher IQ to fill the 9-12 EST slot. When Gallagher comes on, I can't twist the dial quickly enough!

And yes, I still use an analog radio with an old-fashioned dial. It even has those big ole rotor-blade tuning capacitors inside!

They will name themselves and their agenda and beliefs will all come out like they usually do after the election season starts.

To discard all other candidates this early, because you are so rigidly entrenched on one candidate, is pure insanity. That kind of stupidity is EXACTLY why we found ourselves being forced to vote for McCain and lost in 2008, to a Community Organizer with about 14 months of very limited Legislative experience.

The latest Gallop Poll shows a statistical deadheat and three-way tie.

Huckabee 18
Romney 16
Palin 16

Has anybody alerted Christians that Huckabee is not a conservative on economic matters?

I said it would be Romney or Palin for 2 years and in the end, that is what it will be.

I'm in ground Zero right now(Wisconsin),and Mike is right, dems are scared of her!

In my 20’s I liked Unions, I now hate Unions because of their power and “We the Union”, instead of we the People(voters)!

I want to union people heads explode when she announces.

I also can't stand pissant and the unions and when Palin gets the nomination, priceless!

In my time only Reagan bought out this much left hate!

Please Sarah Run, I can wait to get out the Popcorn.

>> Gallagher, like Laura Ingraham, has the basic fault of a second-line talk show host <<

I agree with you about the repitition. The opening hour of Laura’s show is usually OK, but I’m almost never able to stick with her for the second and third hours — unless she’s interviewing a really topnotch guest. For example, if she says she’ll have Tom Sowell or Victor Davis Hanson in the third hour, I’ll stay tuned.

But I gotta disagree about your “second-line” designation. Laura may be a second-liner. But in my book, Mikie G. doesn’t even rise to third line!

Wow - I didn’t know he did that. There are things I like about him and I listen to his show occasionally. I don’t particularly like the way he’s been “endorsing” Palin lately because it’s not because of herself, but only because he “wants to see the liberal heads explode” if she runs. (His words.) While that part is kind of fun, he’s not endorsing Palin, but just the “idea of Palin running”.

Anyway - if he really did support sending Elian back to Fidel, then my thoughts about him have turned. (That situation, right there, is what brought me to FR in the first place.)

I have yet to see any candidate able to connect the dots.

You can talk about Obamacare, immigration, unions, protests, revolts and revolutions around the world, defense, government spending, debt, bailouts etc and it all comes back to equal treatment before Lady Justice. The problems are all due to unequal justice. The government over the last 30 years in a drive to bring about equality has brought about the biggest unequal society the USA has had since slavery.

>> Palin convinced me she was an inept candidate when she ran for VP <<

I still defended and supported her thru the end of the campaign and beyond. I didn’t believe all the nasty stuff the McCain insiders were leaking to the media.

But when Sarah resigned the governership, I lost all confidence and struck her off my list of favorites.

My ultra-conservative wife held on a lot longer. She even laid out good money for the ghost-written book with Palin’s name on it.

But wifey has an uncanny ability to reflect overall public opinion. So when she told me she had grown tired of Sarah’s publicity seeking and her often-whiny statements, I knew the jig was up. If the GOP should nominate SP for POTUS, I’m sure we’ll be blessed with another four years of Barry the Ø.

Gallagher is a dreamer. He is only trying to get his pathetic nearly dead radio career back on track. If he endorses Palin, he will get her emotional, love stricken following to listen to him again.

The facts are, the MSM does not fear Palin in any way. They would love to have her following crush all her opposition until she gets the nomination. Then they would launch their massive smear campaign, and all the previous baggage Palin carries will become a media extravaganza of Tabloid proportions. And by then, there will be no time left for our side to recover and pick a new candidate.

So, don't underestimate the MSM or the Left, they are far more adept at destroying a candidate in a very short time than most here realize.

Try being a bit more rational and less absolute in your thinking. That way you will at least be able to carry on a meaningful conversation with other human beings.

Actually, I find Mike Gallagher much easier to listen to than Hannity, who hasn’t had anything new to say in years. He’s also much easier on the ears than Boortz, who like Hannity, wastes too much valuable air time on trivial inside stuff about the personal lives of his staff members, etc. He beats some other Salem talkers such as Bill Bennett and Michael Medved by a country mile. Granted, he’s not as good as Dennis Prager (who is Salem’s best, IMO), but he’s every bit as good as Hugh Hewitt and a whole lot less boring to listen to than HH. I can’t listen to Savage because he thinks the world revolves around him, him, him.

My top ten favorite talkers are:
1. Rush
2. Mark Levin
3. Laura Ingraham
4. Dennis Prager
5. Rusty Humphries
6. Mike Gallagher
7. Lars Larson
8. Mark Steyn (subs for Rush)
9. Mark Davis (WBAP in Dallas, also subs for Rush)
10. Glenn Beck
