Teachers who have illegally called-in sick in order to join the street protests constitute a substantial share of the mob demonstrating against the proposed policy changes. This has forced a widespread cancellation of classes throughout the public school system.
Almost makes me wish for a Reagenesque moment with air traffic controllers. Fire the whole lot of them or just end public education.

hiding somewhere within the Peoples Republic of Illinois. How do you like that? They don't even have the decency to spend their easy-earned money in the state of the taxpayers that pay their salaries.

Of the 14 DemonRat senators, only 2 of them, (two men), have actually seen, as per the youtube clip by the Freepers. I would bet that not all 14 are hiding, but that some of them have slipped home, or never left to begin with. THEY are HIDING at their homes, in the basements.. That's what I read in somebodies blog. The ones that are AWOL are no doubt using Wisconsin Senate credit cards . This should be investigated right now. Not three years from now!

Don't go trying to put a positive spin on this. Even though fewer days in the indoctrination camps benefits the children in the long run, this still sets a bad example.

Senator Jon Erpenbach (D-Middleton)...."Just because they have the votes doesnt mean they have the right to govern any way they want."
Wisconsin voters gave Republicans a majority in both houses as well as the governorship -dismissed as irrelevant by Erpenbach. You know, German voters elected Hitler...
And there it is: Disagreement with Demoncrats = Hitler.
And it wasn't just a matter of having the "votes" - each of those "votes" represent a voter, AKA "taxpayer" - so it's not necessarily what the legislators want, it's what the PEOPLE WANT!
One cannot divorce a voter from a vote like it's just an entry on a spread sheet...........

Cancel their state credit cards.
When it starts coming out of their own pockets, they’ll fold.

In 2003 51 Texas democratic legislators pulled the same stunt.
They “ran away from home” to Ardmore Oklahoma to prevent a quorum.
The result?
Of the 51, 3 were re-elected.
Today the 2/3 quorum does not require a single democrat - the Republicans now have a supermajority.
Today, no democrat holds a statewide office in Texas.
When I was a lad, the governor, the majority of both houses in Austin as well as most county offices (all in my home county) were held by democrats.
Today in my current home county most republicans on local and county ballots run unopposed.
Texas is a “right to work” state and not coincidentally, last year created more than half the real (i.e., non-governmental) jobs created in the nation.
Anyone see a pattern?
Not really Texas bragging....I’m sure Wisconsin’s people are just as smart, on average....they, in the birthplace of the progressive movement, just have a deeper hole to stop digging.

Good one.
Our Texas democrats pulled the same kind of stunt once upon a time to prevent a redistricting vote from going through. It accomplishes nothing except to expose their hypocrisy.

Reduce their pay on a pro rata basis for each day legislature meets.
After 5 days they should be fined individually $1000 a day for each day they are absent up to 5 days then fine is doubled for another 5 days etc.
When their annual salary is fully encumbered, they are FIRED!!!
Another election can be held for their seat; AND they are NOT ALLOWED TO RUN for THIS ELECTION.
