In 2003 51 Texas democratic legislators pulled the same stunt.
They “ran away from home” to Ardmore Oklahoma to prevent a quorum.

The result?

Of the 51, 3 were re-elected.

Today the 2/3 quorum does not require a single democrat - the Republicans now have a supermajority.

Today, no democrat holds a statewide office in Texas.

When I was a lad, the governor, the majority of both houses in Austin as well as most county offices (all in my home county) were held by democrats.

Today in my current home county most republicans on local and county ballots run unopposed.

Texas is a “right to work” state and not coincidentally, last year created more than half the real (i.e., non-governmental) jobs created in the nation.

Anyone see a pattern?

Not really Texas bragging....I’m sure Wisconsin’s people are just as smart, on average....they, in the birthplace of the progressive movement, just have a deeper hole to stop digging.

I should move to Texas. We are held hostage by Democrats here in Pennsylvania.
