I had a house full of ten and eleven year old girls plus some teens.... they all said the half time performance was horrible. In fact, they listened for a few minutes and went into the kitchen to do other things. I think young and old thought the performance by the Black Eyed Peas was less than say... great. Absolutely. I call it de-evolution. It's real. I would add that the behavior of the PLAYERS also illustrated this fact. They celebrate wildly after every little thing, in a way that would have been considered unsportsmanlike not too long ago.

I watched two football games this year and both games featured players getting penalties for unsportsmanlike celebration in the end zone. But it happens on almost every play.

Ghetto culture has been driving out good culture for longer than I’ve been alive. While there are exceptions, overall the influx of negro culture has been bad for our society in terms of dress, dancing, music, art, speech, humor, and manners.

Whoever planned the halftime show, most likely a committee, new exactly what they were getting. The BEP’s are basically a manufactured pop-group that sings karaoke. There are no instruments in their songs, there are only synthetically manufactured noises that are supposed to come close to some kind of real musical instrument, but they always fail. BEPs music has no soul and the “players” are people who were assembled like a boy-band—with the requisite “Mod Squad” look, but without the white male.

Wow! My sentiments, exactly.

I watched at my cigar club, which has a quite conservative membership. I was surprised that I heard no one express disgust for any of the "entertainment" and some guys actually seemed to enjoy at least parts of it.

I said nothing. I had never seen or heard any of these people or what they do before (except for Aguilera, I heard of her). My tastes run in a different direction, so I thought maybe I just didn't understand, but I sure was thinking "low class" for all of it.

People keep saying this, but it's just plain nonsense. For example, the transition from slavery to Jim Crowism to petty discrimination to near-equality is evolution, not "degeneration" (I presume that the author is not some kind of racist pin-head).

It's been my experience that when the game is good, the "entertainment" sucks and when the game is a blowout the entertainment is pretty good. I agree with most of what the author said. This was one of the worst halftime shows ever. I would much rather see a college marching band than what passes for entertainment now days.

I almost never listen to the National Anthem before a sporting event because the singers butcher it so badly by "personalizing" it. It makes me grit my teeth so hard that I get a headache.

And if it were not for a segment on Glenn Beck's radio show, I could still claim such innocence. That Beck segment made me grateful that I missed the SB half time show...
