Diane English Threatens to Bring Back 'Murphy Brown' to Do Battle with Sarah Palin

Television producer Diane English has a plan in case Sarah Palin runs for president. In that event, she will attempt to bring back her hit series "Murphy Brown," which ran in the late 1980s and for most of the 1990s.

The idea, apparently, would be for a six-part miniseries in which Murphy, the fictitious acerbic, uber-liberal television host, would wage a campaign against Sarah Palin. Murphy Brown was played by Candice Bergen, who subsequently played Shirley Schmidt in "Boston Legal," essentially Murphy Brown as a lawyer.

It is not clear whether English is joking or in earnest. The fictional character Murphy got into a fight with the objectively real Vice President Dan Quayle when Quayle denounced a story line in which Murphy had a child out of wedlock. In a subsequent episode, Murphy denounced Quayle as a busy body in one of her fictional broadcasts.

Mind, one hopes that Diane English is in earnest and Murphy Brown, which personified everything that was unattractive about an aging, post-modern feminazi, does come back from the grave to have at Sarah Palin. Mind, despite my personal opinion of the show and its character, it did pull in the ratings in its heyday...

Why that sounds like a threat and intimidation to me...

But who is the target?

I don’t think it’s Sarah, I think it’s WE THE PEOPLE.

Forget Murphy Brown, I want to see King of the Hill make a comeback. That show was excellent at tweaking liberal noses.

I doubt that Murphy Brown actress would do this series. She even said that Dan Quale was right years later. This show will not happen. Although it makes for good exposure for Diane English who has not been discussed in year and now she is being discussed by us.

I loved it until she started in with her political correctness. I won’t touch it now.

I think you're right!!!...Ive noticed some liberal/independent friends that have softened to Sarah sighting the absurd abuse she has taken...I was shocked.....but thinking about it it makes sense...most liberals are all about “feelings”

They are so out of their minds in fear because they cannot censor Palin. She will not be intimidated and I cannot wait until she enters the race. That alone is enough to do them in. She will draw an audience no matter what they attempt and is what our country needs to take the Demonrat/Obama machine down with their media propagandists. There has never been such a candidate who poses such a threat. Our country is at a point where we are in desperate need of someone like Palin who is more than capable of exposing them and bringing them down.

Awwww....aren't the liberals cute? They're so afraid of Sarah Palin that they want to bring back a has-been fictional character to do battle with her.

Liberals are so immature.

Welcome back, ladies. I think you’re about to find out that, in more ways than the physically obvious, Sarah Palin is no Dan Quayle. This should be fun.

Yes, that’s really her. There are several other similar photos taken at the same event (38th AFI Life Achievement Award) on several other web sites.

Murphy Brown was kinda unique in that time period because she touched upon political issues in a sitcom. Nowadays she would be lost in the crowd of liberals attacking Sarah Palin and conservatives.

Diane English

You're STALE.

Try something unique Attack LIBERALS for a chance.
