... he, Obama, was born in Mombasa, Kenya, but that someday he hoped to be President of the USA... I first heard of this man, a well-respected FreeRepublic member named RaceBannon, about two years ago on these forums, but have seen very little since. RaceBannon met a young man, in Hawaii, and here is what RaceB has said "I met him in 1980 in Hawaii, 3 months after coming back from Mombassa, and the guy I met told me he was born in Mombassa, raised in Indonesia, was living in Hawaii with people who were not his parents, and called the older black gentleman who was working at the time, POPS." Race, are you there? Can you tell us again what you experienced?

What can we do about this now? Do you think that, since the HI governor has confirmed there is no BC, we should be contacting our senators and congressmen and asking them to take a look at this again? Just seems like somehow if enough of us put pressure on, this could be brought to a higher level of attention/action.

I don’t know what to think about the Obama birthplace issue, but I do know this: NONE of us can authoritatively say where we were born of our own knowledge. All we know is what others and documents tell us. If you want proof of birthplace, you can’t rely on what anyone says about his own place of birth...

This is how internet myths get started and make those who keep repeating them eventually look foolish. Do you have any evidence for this? Or is it a repetition (like the "Pakistan travel ban" myth) that started as speculation in 2008 and got repeated so many times it is taken as true?

I read this from an article that was written during the 2008 campaign and they demanded that Obama release his College transcripts and records. He promptly blocked them in court.
Obama himself clearly demonstrated that he had something to hide. That move by him was what got all this speculation started in the first place. Not some half baked “Internet rumor".

What's the purpose of your comments? To tell us that none of us are 'known'? OK, I'll give you the part about none of us having perfect knowledge - but so what? We don't have 'perfect knowledge' about anything... To make the case that 'no one can know anything' is second year college stuff... you can do better.
