Now that Newt Gingrich is officially running for President, I decided to do some research and to see who the former Speaker of the House really is. The political is good, the polling is bad, and the personal is downright ugly.
Campaigns
Gingrich was elected to the House of Representatives eleven times (resigning after the 1998 election), his only two losses came against a popular incumbent Democrat in the 1974 and 1976 elections. When he was elected Speaker of the House in 1995 - it was the first time in four decades that a Republican had been able to reach the coveted legislative post.

Actually, ‘the political’ is NOT good. Someone get another couch and bring in Hillary and Nancy for the campaign poster.
The political is good? LOL
One shot of the couch incident with Pelosi will finish him.
Mr Scozzafava is an DEMOCRAT.
He and Romney should start a brothel somewhere and leave the rest of us alone as we seek a better non-beltway leader.
With Dede hanging around his neck Newt has no chance.
The political is good,
Only if you believe in Pelosi style CO2 regulation legislation. Just keep playing the Nancy and Newt on the couch add if you Gingrich ever starts looking good to you.
The GOP Establishment needs to understand that the “same old, same old” is no longer acceptable to the voters. They need to lead, follow or get out of the way of the ‘new blood” that is emerging, much as the result of the Tea party phenomena. if the Establishment cannot see this, it is time to move them out of the way.
Has anyone ever asked him about that? Has he repented? I’ve never seen anything.
The ONLY reason I voted in 2008 was for Sarah. If we have a spineless bleep nominated for our party, I will not vote....actually I’ll write in Sarah’s name (same thing).
I can no longer vote for the lesser of 2 evils. Evils is evil and I’m done with it.
I disagree. The guy made one terrible endorsement....there was not good candidate in that race as it turns out. He’ll be forgiven for that.
Newt is the only candidate who can intellectually challenge the rabid MSM - no one else running can logically articulate the conservative position and simultaneously destroy the Kenyan’s positions.
Forget about the baggage - hell how much baggage does obama have? and that fool got elected.
I was “all in” for Palin, but she doesn’t have the ability to run a good campaign and fight the MSM ankle biters at the same time. Newt has that ability.
Don’t underestimate Newt - he is an incredibly smart man.
Yes, i know, the msm is already writing stories about how he left his wife...blah...blah...blah.
That was part of a $300 million propaganda campaign:

Newt is good for the occasional comment and analysis, but a joke as a candidate. His ambitions to become president should have been shelved when he retired as Speaker. Screw ups matter, more so because Newt chose to play the populous game with global warming and healthcare to win the media love. He can’t be trusted in his private or public life.
You seem to follow him. Has he ever talked about his pro-global warming ad with Pelosi? Defended it? Flip flopped?
It’s the March of the RINOs.
