David Frum Freaks Out Over Sarah Palin’s Supposed Racism

With Kathleen Parker getting her own CNN show, David Frum is undoubtedly worried that he will be totally eclipsed among so-called conservatives with Palin Derangement Syndrome.
So, in a little 59 word post portentously entitled, Bigger Problems with Sarah Palins new book, David Frum finds racismyes, racismin the following statement:
PALIN FROM AMERICA BY HEART: But from what Ive read, family life at the time of the founding was a lot like family life for Americans today: full of challenges, sure, but also full of simple pleasures.
Ill give you boilerplate, banality, throwaway, heartfelt cornpone
but racism? Really? Give up the Frum Forum, David, and get a column on HuffPo. You would have more readers and most importantly, you would be right at home with other PDS sufferers.
FRUM: For the 1 in 6 Americans who were held as slaves in 1790 often unable to marry legally, and always liable to be sold and separated from spouses or children family life was quite a lot different at the time of the founding than it is today.
A would-be president should remember that part of the American story too.
Even Frum Forum readerswho are still looking for a right of center reading experiencewere put out by this, asking if we had to mention slavery every time we bring up the founders.
I dont say so at all, Frum protested, I dont call for national self-flagellation or self-disparagement.

So — she’s a racist because she isn’t obsessed with race?

Frum is an idiot. Sarah Palin was obviously referring to the colonialists in that passage and to call her 'racist' because she didn't include something about the Indian's family life is simply absurd. I'm so sick of this fake 'conservative' who fools absolutely no one as to what his true political allegiance really is - and it is not conservative.

I’m sorry, but I really have no idea who the hell David Frum is. I’ll bet he didn’t vote for Bristol though.

Have you noticed that most of the people complaining of white racism are themselves white?

“ I don’t say so at all,” Frum protested, “I don’t call for national self-flagellation or self-disparagement.”
So every discussion of life pre-1865 must contain a P.C. disclaimer? Or else people will forget that slavery is wrong? Please.
Frum is one of those liberals who always bring up the fact that Thomas Jefferson and other founders owned slaves. They do it because they find it easier to dismiss the founders outright because of one flaw (owning slaves) than it is to argue against their broader ideals...the ideals that founded this republic.
