Ted Koppel slams Fox News for being as partisan and biased as MSNBC in an opinion piece in todays Washington Post. Koppel then stretches reality even fartherbeyond the breaking pointby elevating MSNBC to being an enterprise that is as successful financially and ratings-wise as Fox News! Koppels opinion piece makes one thing clear, all right, above all else: He is either crazy, delusional or spreading leftist propaganda (maybe all three). For Koppel to even bring down Fox News by alleging it is as hatefully partisan as MSBNC, and then bring MSNBC up to Fox News level by crediting it with good ratings, is close to blasphemy. Koppel would have been correct if he had limited his comments solely to MSNBC as the epitome of partisanship in the news because aside from Hannity and Beck, where are the partisan shows on Fox?! There arent any! MSNBC, on the other hand, features not only hardcore partisanship during primetime, but also during its so-called "news" programs during the day.

It is possible that Ted Koppel is wrong, honestly mistaken, and merely rehashing the old Liberal catechism or there might be something far more sinister afoot. We will know soon; if Koppel is joined by other establishment media wise old men then there is a coordinated effort afoot inspired and financed by George Soros to bring down Fox and especially Glenn Beck.
Dana Milbank of the Washington Post has recently come out with a book trashing Beck and he too might be just another honestly misguided liberal or he might be part of the pack which will soon be in full cry.

All this right after the “journalism community” last week absolved Olberman of sin, “because we all know there’s no such thing as ‘objective journalism.’” Ted must not have gotten the memo

Is that the same Ted Koppel who couldn’t cover the Franklin Scandal because of unnamed vulnerabilities of his own?

Ted Koppel slams Fox News for being as partisan and biased as MSNBC
Ted, Ted, poor boob. Don't you know that it's not being partisan and biased that is bad? It's what you're being partisan and biased about that makes the difference. If you are biased toward thinking the best of everyone and trying to find a way to solve problems instead of just bitching about them, that is good. If you are biased against the United States as a transformative force in world history that has helped raise millions out of poverty, sickness, and servitude, that is bad. If you're a partisan who is trying to promote individual liberty, less government, states' rights, ie, the Constitution, you are a good partisan. If you're a partisan who is trying to promote a heavy centralized government that tells people where to live, how to live, how much and how many resources they may or may not use, which insurance companies they must purchase how much insurance and at what prices, threaten to jail them if they come up with their own arrangements that are satisfactory to them and those whom they've chosen to supply them, then you are a BAD partisan who needs his ass thoroughly kicked to the edge of society and beyond.

It may be a concerted effort as you suggest, but if FOX is taken off the air, Martial Law will be just hours behind.

Ted Koppel? I havent heard that name in years...That's because he decided to ditch TV and tour the country with his band, the Ted Koppel Funk Machine.
To: Suvroc10
Maybe someone should launch a conservative network that actually is as biased as MSNBC.

Ted’s utopia.
“Much of the American public used to gather before the electronic hearth every evening, separate but together, while Walter Cronkite, Chet Huntley, David Brinkley, Frank Reynolds and Howard K. Smith offered relatively unbiased accounts of information that their respective news organizations believed the public needed to know. The ritual permitted, and perhaps encouraged, shared perceptions and even the possibility of compromise among those who disagreed.”
Up yours Ted , The monster has been killed.

And I wanted to make another point. What is the value of posting a third party critique of Ted’s opus. Freepers are capable of commenting on Ted’s article directly.
