"I am in weekday breakfast rut! I need something I can either easily carry or eat/prep quickly. I swear I've had every combination of Publix/Other brand bagels + various cream cheese spreads....gone through tons of cereals, oatmeals, frozen foods. Did the hot pocket thing and/or jimmy dean breakfast d'lite frozen sandwich things for a while.
I'm not against precooking things either! I've hardboiled eggs the night before and peeled them, or cooked noodles or mashed potatoes and just warmed a small portion in the morning. But I'm tired of all of the above. What do you eat for breakfast?"
I have oatmeal, sometimes plain, no salt or anything, and sometimes I have it with a spoon of brown sugar. Those English breakfasts look delicious but I’d never be able to move after eating that. I’d NEVER touch a black (blood) sausage, though. That’s too disgusting for me.MAYBE if I was starving to death, but I’d probably be looking for some grubs or something before I resorted to that. It’s that bad to me lol.
Yum. Also known as “heart attack on a plate”, but what the heck!
Whirl in a blender:
1 frozen banana (freeze in small pieces),
3/4 cup frozen blueberries,
1 cup low fat plain yogurt,
a few walnuts.
After blending, I mix in a couple tablespoons of special dark chocolate chips.
It’s not super sweet, which I like, because there is no sugar in the yogurt.
This power smoothie takes me through the morning.
Yum!
Nothing better for breakfast. Great for eating on the run.
I just can NOT do baked beans for breakfast. Unfortunately, coming from a family with some Brits in it, baked beans do appear on the breakfast table from time to time. YUCK!
best way is to cook some bacon in the skillet first and remove and then break up and brown the sausage in the drippings. Or add a Tbsp of bacon drippings that have been stored. The bacon flavor makes a difference!
Sounds yummy.
Boy, does that look good...
But I favor protein shakes on busy work days...high quality protein powders from health food stores blended with frozen or fresh fruit are fast and delicious and low fat, low carb, and high energy....eg..banana flavored blended with pineapple and/or strawberry....or a whole orange blended with vanilla protein powder...or chocolate with some peanut butter and banana to stick to your ribs.....
Mmmmm....
That second photo down in post #1 was what Mrs. OP and I had every morning for seven days while at a B&B while in York, the UK one time. We never got tired of it. Delicious.
Yum! Corned beef hash!
We’re having home fries, bacon and eggs. :)
During the week breakfast is a cup of yogurt with fruit or a piece of string cheese with a slice of toast with a thin spread of marmalade or a bowl of Special K, no sweetener and milk. Add a grapefruit half or a cuop of uice to the above.
Saturday it’s a blow out. French toast or pancakes or eggs with bacon and sausage. If it’s eggs add grilled mushrooms and tomatoes. Sometimes we go out for brunch so the husband can have biscuits and gravy.
No matter what’s for breakfast, I start every day with a pot of strong Irish tea.
When going to a men's breakfast meeting, garnish a serving or two with meatballs and adorn with a sign proclaiming it to be manly oatmeal.
LOL! Do we have serious fans or what?!

How does Corned Beef Hash and eggs over easy sound this morning...
Is that real gold around her neck?
