It’s all been long planned and engineered by these folks:

Who have been convinced by the critters that the world MUST
be reduced to a global population of 200 million in order for mankind and the planet to survive at all.
Besides 200 million slaves are a lot easier to control than 6 billion plus.
Just my thoughts....
Mystery Missile Over Los Angeles
TC, can you elaborate any on this "Insanity/Wave" discovery?
Thanks in advance!
I remember, writing a long time ago, about a gotterdammerung, wchich is when there is a winnowing out of the weak and the strong coming through. We’re in the beginning of one right now. At the moment, the people with a certified skill are the ones who will be setting up shop and succeeding while the philosophy majors are going to be falling to pieces. In the Old South, the shopkeepers and farmers and people in construction survived while the ones who depended on slave labor and lived leisurely on their incomes fell to pieces. Same withe the French aristocrats who spent more than they had and lived on credit. I see a collapse coming, that should have happened sooner and the bailouts only postponed the inevitable. If we let families who lived like kings on a pauper’s income fall apart and make them start over, the rest of society would move ahead just fine. Poeple wiht not too much to lose are going to do just fine; those who stupidly made speculation a career choice are the ones who will fall.
Yes, inevitibility is about to happen. I can only hope that once the SHTF that many FReepers on here have the ability to get through.
Too long for a tagline.
Pity.
IF
the perceptiveness of a lot of them is any clue . . .
IF
the DEGREE of well aware, informed perspective is any clue . . .
IF
the amound of knowledge and understanding is any clue . . .
it will be a wonder if they can find a can to p*ss in and avoid doing it against the wind.
What will the "useful" do with all the "useless" gumming up the works?? Kill them? Starve them out? Send them to another country?
The folks with the useful skills will surely get along (tho it begs the question if a welder can also farm, or a carpenter can also plumb, or a farmer also be an electrician), but how will they handle the "useless"?
Who will ultimately make the decision of "who wins and who loses"?
And...speaking plainly...what precisely is meant by "fall to pieces" and "fall apart"...and who is it that is going to help them "start over"...and start over doing what?
How does a man and wife without income and no skills...and by the way, 68 and 65 respectively - start over?
Just my thoughts....
Please stop being so antagonistic.
I’m not talking about seniors who are being stripped of their savings or about making decisions on who is and isn’t useless. The smart people who have solid skills and work to get them are the ones who will make it through. The farmers/carpenters/plumbers/welders will form an interdependent network helping each other. I have no real idea on how the others will survive, I really don’t. Something will be formed though and not based on PC, I can promise that. The elderly will hopefully have family to help them, and good friends. But the real problem is that the hard working and skilled will face a horrendous burden, which they might well refuse to carry. Rightly.
Stop picking at me and please STOP pushing me to figure things out on my own.
Oh great...

Sure.
The underlying words/concepts at lower layers that basically distilled up into "Insanity/Wave" include the intersection of 3 primary sets:
(madness, crazy, insane, irrational, psychotic, bizarre, odd, freaky, strange, nuts, criminally insane, aggressive, unexplained, fear, terror, murder, assault, suicide )
and
(individuals, people, groups, loner, person, stranger, family, social )
and
(wave, pattern, increase, crescendo, peak, expand, enlarge, gain)
Looks like some sort of fear experience causes or is caused by (can't tell which) some sort of aggressive insanity.
Nice, huh?
” Just my thoughts.... “
I hope you don’t mind if I take a swing at this —
If the collapse is as complete as postulated, one rule will be in effect: “Survivors will survive - others won’t”, and there will, in all probability, be a ‘Great Dying’....
(Post Katrina, while all of the ‘stranded’ were getting media attention wailing and squawking for Gummint to come save them, a large number also quietly packed what they could carry and walked out to safety... There’s a lesson in that...)
And it’s less dependent on one’s particular skills, as much as on one’s outlook/attitude — a Master Union Plumber who will only do plumbing will probably starve, while a Computer Programmer who is willing to turn his hand to anything will probably survive - and maybe even thrive....
“(tho it begs the question if a welder can also farm, or a carpenter can also plumb, or a farmer also be an electrician),”
I am none of the above, but I can weld, farm, plumb, and build - as well as cook, sew, hunt, fish, and so forth - well enough to get by, and that’s all that’s required for survival....
As for your elderly couple with ‘no skills’ - that’s a false premise, if they can watch children or care for the sick...
And, finally - the ‘secret’ is going to be in building communities - those who take the attitude of “I’ve got guns and ammunition and I’ll just hole up and protect my ‘I’ve got mine’” will soon fall by the wayside, while groups acting cooperatively will have a better chance, both in terms of individual survival, and, even, in terms of ‘quality of life’......
So, things will get miserable for a while, and surely bloody, but not hopeless... (Unless one’s ‘hope’ is a short interregnum followed by a joyous return to status-quo-ante, in case one will be disappointed... ;))
My $0.02
Thank God.
It's long overdue, and the parasites are killing us.
That would be to their detriment. Who else are they going to invest into?
Collapse is coming and to be blunt, I think the US needs a dose of Third World living to save us from ourselves. I look foward to a system collapse and seeing all these welfare moochers forced to get themselves together. And seeing the benefits dry up for all else. I’m sure that it’ll also enable the hardowrking to shrug off the dross and really be able to enjoy the fruits of their labors.
Who’s going to pass on these skills from one generation to the next?
I realise that you think philosophy is useless, but it’s essential if you are going to have something to pin your hat on. I mean heck, you can go with this whole survival of the fittest, but that’s not a great outcome for the individual farmer who has considerably more produce than he can reasonably defend.
If you want a working human society you need a philosophy of some sort to tie everyone together.
HMMMMMMMMMM
