Yeah, well two years is a long way down the road. Martial law and rigged elections are potential variables the eggheads pretend don’t exist.
But they do.
Why?
And did you create this video? Or are you using it to pimp your blog for hits?
He’s right about Ohio, Obama narrowly won Ohio in 2008, now he will have to face high unemployment, high disapproval and the fact that Ohio will have John Kasich as Governor...
Obamacare will still be near and dear to the hearts of all Americans (as well as the debt, protecting our sovereignty from the war that’s going on south of our border), and in November 2012 the American people are going to scratch their noses with their middle fingers at Obama, provided he has the “audacity” to try for a 2nd term.
And we still have McCain.
At the rate that things are going to hell in America, the least of the dangers they’ll face in 2012 will be being voted out of office.
Is Brooks still fortunetelling the future by taking an undo interest in the crease in a man’s “pant”?
well said....
Well, DeoVindiceSicSemperTyrannis, looks like you’ve been banned.
This nails it. Redisticting folks! Plus add Florida and its damn near a done deal...if the pubbies hold true.
Now the most important thing is to keep the Rs on course. One small slip and they are history no matter what.
The hate DeMint/Palin club needs to be smashed within the ranks. Mostly this bunch is in the senate..congressional staffers/exec committe types.
Ohio was supposed to be Bambi’s 2012 “firewall” so he, his wookie and his dumas VP came here over a dozen times shortly before the election. They often came together. They did everything they could to save the firewall. Even trotted out the old chestnut of the “atomic plant” where plutonium has been enriched and has been threatened by foreign and other states’ competition, and said they were “thinking about” keeping it going to pursue 4,000 jobs. Total lie. Never meant it. Sen. Sherrod Brown will probably pay for that hip fake when he is up again. Now Ohio has R Governor, Lt Gov, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Auditor, all members of Supreme Court and Treasurer. There is no other state-wide office. I would have to call Ohio a GOP bunker for 2012. And it is all on Obama. The Dem Governor was popular and came within 100,000 votes. But he could not carry all of Obama’s crap on his back to get to the finish line.
Yes, David. I am listening. Your words are so wise. Have you ever thought of writing for the New York Times. ... oh wait.
I have? Oh noes!
Thank you! :)
JIM LEHRER: What about — David, what about Barack Obama 2012? Is there — is there something there at risk here?
DAVID BROOKS: Oh, absolutely. And I think they vastly — in the White House, they vastly underestimate the dangers they face here, in part because, in Ohio, they are — and it’s hard to win without winning Ohio — they are so far down, I could beat Barack Obama in Ohio. I mean, anybody could.
JIM LEHRER: Let’s not get carried away.
DAVID BROOKS: Yes, OK, OK.
MARK SHIELDS: Yes.
DAVID BROOKS: But any plausible person could.
(LAUGHTER)
Anybody taller than me could.
(LAUGHTER)
So, they are in trouble. And it’s hard to win the presidency without winning Ohio or the entire Midwest. And they don’t quite — I don’t think they quite register that. The second thing...
JIM LEHRER: So, you think he is at risk, his reelection is at risk?
DAVID BROOKS: I do. I really do. The more you look at the results, one way to read it is that the outlier was 2008, that what has happened now, it’s swung back, and that there is a Republican coalition there. And that would make it hard for him to win those people back in 2012.
JIM LEHRER: All right. We have to leave it there. Mark, David, thank you both very much.
MARK SHIELDS: Brooks for president, Ohio?
(LAUGHTER)
JIM LEHRER: Yes. You said it. I didn’t.
(LAUGHTER)
“The hate DeMint/Palin club needs to be smashed within the ranks.”
Yes.
I disagree. Brooks couldn’t beat Obummer.
He’s the only one though.
All they seem concerned about is playing a political game as if it were the next league championship.
Just once I'd like to see a heartfelt effort to do what's right for America not the party in power. Maybe, just maybe the Marco Rubios and Michele Bachmanns will get us on a productive track for a while.
