I agree, Palin turned her seat over to a Republican, and came down here to fight the left, and lead a conservative movement.

Trying to fight the national media, the democrat party, President Obama, the Washington establishment and news shows, the GOP rinos, and move a conservative agenda forward during the 2010 election cycle could not be done from the remote distances as a sitting Governor of Hawaii or Alaska, when you are the most hated, most targeted, most attacked conservative (or any politician) in American history.

Palin made the right decision to not end her political days in isolation in Alaska as she watched the establishment powers destroy her reputation and future and send her to the trash heap of media destroyed potential conservative leaders.

Mark "Panty" Shields is continuing in what will come to be known as the fine, Mid-Term-Cycle-established Democrat tradition of "whistling past the graveyard."

This is the beginning of a blossoming flood of less-than-prohetic proclamations designed to paint Palin as somehow "unelectable," primarily due to the fact that her record in Alaska paints her as the single-most effective elected executive this country has ever seen.

Keep in mind, she won her Governorship, jailed several corrupt predecessors, re-worked the Alaskan-Big Oil revenue sharing program, instituted several ground-breaking policy changes, got Big Oil to start development of new crude-rich production sites, defended herself against numerous spurious legal assaults, successfully negotiated the Alaskan Natural Gas Pipeline deal, re-worked the Alaskan Governor's now-much-leaner perq trough, had a baby, ran for V.P., and still left office with nearly half her term yet to finish.

I know of several two-term Governors who didn't accomplish half that in 8 years. In fact, most Governors ever to serve in all of history left far less-significant marks over their entire carreers.

If somebody decides to run who can actually better Sarah's record of remarkable executive accomplishments, I'll be happy to give them my vote in 2012.

Let's just say I'm not holding my breath. And neither are those plucky, whistling Democrats... it takes alot of hot air to keep whistling for two more years.

8^D

More reason to defund NPR/PBS.

He wasn’t discussing anything, he was only reinforcing, Mark Shields and giving him cover for a statement that is far beyond insulting and decency, by picking up exactly the conversation that Shields would want him to, go directly at Palin.

Hey Mark! Palin didn’t quit.....She side-stepped the Democrat shooting gallery, repositioned, reloaded, and is now returning effective, accurate, and overwhelming fire......

Sarah has a lot going for her in this area.....it’s called Fire Superiority! Feeling a little outclassed these days Mark?

Sorry Mark, if Conservatives don’t play your little Alinsky game it dosen’t mean they’re flawed.....it means they’re smarter than you!

Can someone please explain to me when a mayor, councilman, congressman, senator, governor, or any other office in the land runs for a different office and doesn’t finish their elected term, how that is any different at all from quitting??

“For starters, Palin didn’t kill anybody.”

OTOH, I guess that means (1) Palin will run for the Senate and spend 30 years dominating it as the “lion of the Senate”; (2) that the old media will ignore everything she messes up or does wrong and will not show her in any of her more unflattering moments; (3) It’s a free pass to be a drunkard and serial adulterer should she ever choose to go that direction; and (4) As you point out, its a get-out-of-jail-free card for her.

What a deal!

“If I remember this correctly, after she resigned, Willie Brown (yes the lib pol from California) said she had the best political instincts he had ever seen, and that her decision would be seen as brilliant down the road.”

I hadn’t heard this. Willie is one of the smartest people in America, despite his politics. He ran California for 25 years.

So what is this man, who has three necks and only one pin head, saying? That Palin polls well in Massachusetts?

The other side has already labeled her as a quitter and that will be the message they’ll use on her relentlessly. I understand why she left, but I really wish she had stayed the entire 4 years to get the experience she would need for the presidency.

Weak Position!

Do you always let the progressive extremist left set the terms of debate?

Do you always surrender in the midst of the battle if you think the enemy has a somewhat effective battle-plan or do you figure out an effective counter attack?

They did the same thing with Ronald Reagan.

Did he quit?

No!

He won two elections by overwhelming margins even after the crap they threw at him and being down almost by thirty points several months before the election.

Do you think Sarah is going to quit?

I dunno, it’s been quite a while since I’ve read Screwtape Letters... maybe that name was somewhere in my memory. But I have to say, someone that looks slovenly, as he does, and has that turkey gobbler chin of his, it didn’t take much time to create a name that goes with his appearance and disgusting political antics. Forever he is, Slobgobbler!

It’s been a while since I read it as well. I don’t think slobgobler is actually in there. As CS Lewis is my favorite author, it was a high compliment to you.

surrogates for Myth

I'd tend to doubt that "Maxi" would serve in that role.

However, he is, even if on his own demented initiative, following a template which Romney operatives did contribute in establishing.

Never forget that Mitt (via his minions embedded in the McCain campaign) was perfectly willing to undermine the Republican presidential candidate team during a crucial election -- i.e. he was willing to help get a socialist elected president -- in order to eliminate a rival and thus further his own interests.

That tells you all you need to know about Romney.

Don’t count on it.

She has been very effective at shining the light on the cockroaches.

MSM would have never mentioned “death panels” but they had to after Palin brought it up.

She has raised huge amounts of money and donated it to other candidates.

She is owed big...Loyalty is a funny thing...It tends to be mutual.

Inability to reconcile simple ideas or distinguish simple differences comprise evidence of personality disorders that include dependency, borderline disorder, schizophrenia, etc. Shields is a loon. But we already knew that.

It isn’t.....the Donks complain about Sarah because she didn’t leave office to take higher office...... Class envy about her successful book tour/book.......Fear about her political skills/politically Conservative views.......

The Left doesn’t get it (or they don’t want to get it).

Sarah isn’t in it for the money......(they are gonna tag her constantly with being greedy, or with ties to those wealthy special interest corporations, and other leftist/socialist nonsense.....

Sarah has an overwhelming love for her/our country......and that is what they really don’t understand, and what they don’t like about her.......they’re very sick little puppies those Dems are......spit
