Thank You.....from Delaware

Fellow Freepers,

I want to humbly thank you for the support you gave to Christine O'Donnell here in Delaware.

So many of you gave money, prayers and moral support as we here tried to break the Democrat hold on the good people of Delaware.

Today, you will hear stories about Christine--about what a poor candidate she was, how Mike Castle was the better choice and a guaranteed win in DE for the GOP, and that she ran a poor campaign.

Believe NONE of it. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting and talking with Christine numerous times during this campaign as Mrs.exit82 and I attended various campaign events.

I heard with my own ears what she stood for, what she would do in the Senate, especially in the lame duck session. I saw her interact with all kinds of people, even those opposed to her. I saw her stand up for the unborn, for the Constitution, for fiscal sanity, for repealing Obamacare, for upholding conservative principles.

I also know that Mike Castle would NOT have won Delaware. The Democrats would not have elected a faux Democrat when they could have voted for a real one in Coons. Obama and Biden would never have come here to help Mike Castle.

As far as running a poor campaign, I don't think so. She had a little more than eight weeks to ramp up an organization, from a shoe-string in the primary, all in the face of no help from her own party in the beginning, and the media onslaught against her.

After all, why discuss issues when we can discuss dabbling in witchcraft 25 years ago, whether she paid her bills, whether she believes in evolution or not.

In the end, it was not enough. The braindead people in Northern Delaware, who had their property taxes raised by Coons three times, over 50%, just couldn't resist pulling the "D" lever one more time.

Christine O'Donnell has guts. She took the hits and did her best. Her defeat of Mike Castle changed Delaware politics forever.

Anyway, no doubt she will be analyzed and criticized and joked about ad infinitum.

However, to me, she is me. And I am proud of her. She helped change the landscape across the country by sticking to her principles.

The purpose of this post is just to say "thank you" to all you Freepers that helped in any way to get her elected. You buoyed our efforts, knowing there were folks all over pulling for us.

Freepers are the best people on the planet. I have been one since late 1998, and I have seen that over and over.

Words are inadequate, but I hope you all know how much I, and we here in Delaware, appreciate all of YOUR efforts on behalf of our little state.

This was one battle, not the war.Our country is worth fighting for, and I sincerely hope Christine will once again be in the fight for all of us.

Thank you, Freepers. You are the best.

Did she win? Did she even have a college degree then? Had she ever held a significant elected office then? She is cute though.

Isn't Christine O'Donnell a practicing attorney? So how could she not have a college education in 2008?

When I played football and the smallest guy on the team got the ball we ran and we blocked and we fought for his success. We didn't set up a trifecta of opposition from fans, cheerleaders and teammates. O'Donnell had to defeat not only her opponent but the Republican Party, the media and people like you.

I've read other comments about how she wasn't vetted and how she was a weak candidate, etc. bla, bla, bla. BS. BS. BS.

She stepped up where none of her detractors were willing to go. She may or may not have been the smallest kid on the team but no matter. If you spent your time throwing stones as she tried to advance the ball for our team, instead of bleeding from your eyes and ears for her if necessary, you should just slink away in shame with Rove and the rest of the establishment, back-stabbing pieces of crap. I don't need teammates who tackle their own players.

The Dems even stood behind criminals such as Charlie Rangel. The GOP should have done nothing less than a media full-court-press on her behalf. That they didn't tells me a lot about who my enemies are.

The GOP establishment and the Rino bullies want their kind of Republicans elected. High class, blue blood, wealthy types who believe in consensus and cocktail parties, and very little else. The Frums, Brooks, Noonans, and Parker people are who I am taking about. These types of Republicans will be what the Democrats wish them to be, and they will field a gang of fourteen on cue, vote for horrible legislation, and endorse Obama’s judicial abominations.

Christine wasn't that type of Republican. Mark Kirk is, and aren't we so glad he is coming to our side? This is not about Alexi whatshisname and the premise of choosing Kirk because he might vote with us every other Christmas. It is about the type of Republican that the Rino establishment and their toadies expect us to routinely nominate for important races from the presidency on down. How did John McCain work out? Bob Dole? Gerald Ford?

Christine fought the good fight. There are people here who are just so happy and giddy she lost. They can't even stay off a thread where people are commiserating after a loss. They have to show up and pound on a defeated lady who did her best so they can celebrate the election of Chris Coons.

These so called Freepers are all over, insulting and bashing O'Donnell and congratulating themselves over the election of Coons simply because Delaware didn't listen to them and nominate the equally despicable Michael Castle.

Congratulations, Christine. You stole our hearts, at least those of us who have one.

She is not now nor has she ever been an attorney. She only recently acquired a degree in english following summer remediation. She is cutely conservative. That is her only qualification.

We supported her, too, with money and prayers. She was an excellent candidate and outshone Coons in the debate we saw. No wonder he backed out of the last two! Tell her to keep the faith: we need more like her!

I’ve wondered the same thing about the people in DE. But, then I have to realize this state elected the doofus Joe Biden for 30 years. I know we’re all Americans, but, come on —— what part of marxism don’t they understand? Or are they so thrilled to see a D beside someone’s name, that they are blind to issues?

No one will ever convince me that harry reid didn’t steal that election in NV. I refuse to capitalize his pukey name. His son lost, and yet he won? Something stinks to high heaven there.

My mistake. I misunderstood something I read. Nevertheless, she's the only one who stepped up and she was savaged from all sides. I think she did a commendable job.

I have a Ph.D. in physics but I can't be the only person in America that believes that schooling isn't the measure of a person.

“She was unqualified and unprepared to be Senator. Why not EARN a senate shot by working your way up through the state house. She IS cute though.”

EARN a senate shot by becoming a career politician? Did you really just say that?

HospiceNurse (think about the moniker) is merely a troll, of the variety the PUMAs would call an “Eeyore”. Negative and defeatist, steady as a water drip and charming as mold.

One to ignore, IMO.

Schooling isn't "THE" measure of a person. I agree.

Would you agree that schooling is one measure of a candidate for a job?

Would you agree that experience is a measure of a candidate for a job?

Would you be surprised that someone with a remediated english degree could not name a single supreme court decision?

Do we hire someone simply because they are the only applicant to apply [to pilot our plane?]; [to perform our surgery?]; [to craft our laws?].

We might as well hire a community organizer to command our troops.

Why not EARN a senate shot...

She did - she won her primary.

I was angry she lost due to RINO elitist sabotage.

When you hire someone with a loser resume, please do NOT be surprised when they lose. Rove was right again. I remember when FR loved Rove.

You are correct. O’Donnell’s degree is in Communications.

She has claimed in debates to be a Costitutional expert, citing a “fellowship with the Claremont Institute.”

Actually, the Claremont Institute is a conservative think-tank, and her “fellowship” lasted all of seven days. I think the word “seminar” would be more appropriate.

I had a post published by the Claremont institute. Unfortunately it is in my real name and I wouldn’t want to reference it directly here.

I don’t understand why many freepers refuse to ask as much of their candidates as they do their plumbers.

Loser resume?

She has always lost previous elections, as documented on her resume. Give me a more accurate description and I will use it.

She IS cutely conservative. I see her as our Katie Couric!

All that is besides the point. The point is GOP disloyalty to their own candidate and sniping here by others. If she were a Democrat and a serial killer every Democrat would have supported her to the end. How else did Joe Biden, the plagiarist, keep his job for 30 years?

But since you brought it up:
We do not have an unlimited pool of candidates. The GOP put up Castle. O'Donnell won against him in a primary. Effectively, the Delaware Republicans had two choices for the job and they chose her. Maybe if they had three, four or five choices they would have made a different choice.

Leftists focus on education and pedigree because they are looking for an unlimited ruler and despot. So Princeton trumps Ohio State and Law trumps English for them. I've never seen a degree such as "BA remedial" so I don't know if there is such a scale of degrees. Naturally, if you are a bluenose, you think that the degree, the school and the fraternity all matter. I guess a degree re-do matters to some people also.

Instead of degrees, conservatives look for character and honesty because we want someone who honestly holds to the Constitution and the laws of the land and who will do what they say and say what they do. We want someone who keeps promises and fights for principle.

In typical fashion, O'Donnell was asked quiz questions such as what Supreme Court decisions she would most disagree with. She could have said Dred Scott or the one that let Democrats put Japanese-Americans in concentration camps but she assumed they were talking about recent cases. I can't think of any recent decisions I find reprehensible off the top of my head. Maybe if I saw a list to jog my memory. McCain Feingold was pretty bad but remedied by whatcamacallit that got the President's shorts in a twist. Oh yeah. I just remembered. Kelo was a blow to the takings clause too.

Maybe we could have asked her to name the capitals of several countries or the ambassadors to those countries. What's the point? Perhaps we should have a spelling bee to determine who rules us. That would have eliminated Dan Quayle at least, probably Biden too. Obama would be eliminated by having to speak without a teleprompter I guess.

Or how about, instead, we ask her what she would do to improve medical care in the country or increase jobs. Or maybe she should have been asked if she thinks the Constitution is living and breathing. Or perhaps she should be asked if the Second Amendment is about an individual right. You know, something related to the job instead of an open ended question.

But, to repeat my point, if she were a Democrat they would have supported her to the ends of the earth, just as they have all their other misfits, Klan members, sexual harassers, thieves, guys who run gay whore houses out of their apartments, guys who don't pay their taxes and so on. The list is endless.
