I received a call from a person who is trying to provide awareness for this bill, HR-5741. This bill will give Obama complete power over all draft age persons 18-45 My question is, do you think this is a valid concern when the Senate votes on this after the elections perhaps during the holidays I am also sending this to many candidates to help me understand if this could be passed as a part of the lame duck after the election. Would the senate really enrage the people and pass this in a lame duck. I am looking for input as to whether I forward to everyone, as I think this would really upset people. And I want to make sure that this is a valid concern. In breif this is what power would be given to the president:

This is (Good Time) Charlie Rangle's baby, he has been pushing it for years but can't even get any democrats to cosponsor, the bill has never even gotten out of committee. I don't see any evidence of that changing anytime in the near future. Even Obama, who has stated he supports some sort of National Service hasn't endorsed it. It's worth watching, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over this one.

For those with inquiring minds, the penalty, according to the bill, for not performing your "national service" would be bans from receiving certain government aid such as extended unemployment benefits and student grants and you would be unable to apply for most federal jobs. Yawn, who cares. Even if it became law I would tell my kids to ignore it, as I would imagine most conservatives would.

“For context, Congressman Rangel has introduced this bill many times in the past. Each time, it has received very little support, and Rangel knows it has no chance of being passed. For more, see his press release.”

Frankly I am that guy. 4 kids, work, house wife etc... I would go to jail rather than serve an unconstitutional order. My liberal acquaintances are already talking about this stuff as if it would be a good thing. They are all ready to commit more of other people’s live to their compassion facism. Seriously, the logical disconnect on the left is weird to observe. The same people who cursed George Bush as a facist would acquiece to this tryanny and believe it is a great idea and good for society. We live in evil times!!!

All I heard from my Democrat buddies was how Bush was supposed to bring back the draft. Now, this POS might do it and all of a sudden it's a good thing.

.

We don't live in evil times, we live in STUPID-IGNORANT times. These Left-wing people are absolutely stupid!!

I have to ask the question: Why would Rangel want this? What’s his purpose, other than being an idiot?

0pansy first needs to produce his own alleged authenicated official Selective Service registration and then complete basic and advanced training at Fort Jackson under a quiet officer like West.....

Put 0pansy on latrine duty and pulling targets at the 500 yard KD range

I miss hitting the metal bullseye the target pullers have to raise

“Boiiiiiiiiiiing!”

.

He would be great fun at the moving targets range at the Ranger camp at Benning too!

As I recall, when I left the Army in the Seventies, I was “assigned” to a reserve group until age 45, subject to being recalled in time of need. Never heard another word about it.

Seems like 18-45 would likely be considered the age range of suitable conscripts if it became necessary.

Congress did allow for special exceptions when certain professions were badly needed for the war effort-doctors,engineers,technicians—trades mostly populated by more mature people—but for non volunteer combat roles the ages were still 18 to 26—if I remember correctly.

Don’t you think Rangel believes all the black boys have to join the Military because they ‘need to’ but the “rich” white boys always get to sit it out? That’s always been my impression.

Darn, I hate it when I have to proove something, lol

Obama Wants ‘Civilian National Security Force’

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=69601

there is an excerpt from a book by Rahm Emanual, Obama’s new right-hand man starting in January. The book outlines a program of compulsory, that is, mandatory, civil defense training for all Americans aged 18 to 25. This sounds very much like preparation for a large-scale war to me, but that would just be crazy, right? They wouldn’t be planning another world war, would they? Here’s some audio and video of Rahm talking about this program, and at the end is the snippet from Obama’s speech. This is the “change” you voted for.

You are welcome, that’s always been my impression anyway and since blacks are only 13% of the population, there are always going to be so many more whites serving.

Lol, I need my ‘bearings’ tonight. Keep making mistakes!

Obama needs some parades in DC to showcase the accomplishments of his administration.
New “people’s army” divisions in their Malcolm X leather jackets and berets could march with clenched fists raised high as floats depicting the evils of George Bush and other enemies of the people followed. There’d be others of O’s “real” life story, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid.
Then it would be off to the mass games events at that place the Redskins played before they were drafted.

.

There were valid reasons some were detailed to only drive supply trucks or perform other rear non-com area duties in WWII and especially in Korea

The official casualty rate and service rates completely disprove Rangel’s BS allegations

Supply clerk MOS behind lines or stateside duty is a dandy place to stay alive

We had a Major working for us who resigned his commission during the Korean War because the upper brass would not let him file court martial charges against those that jumped out of foxholes and left the honkies to die as the Chi-Com hordes charged en masse in Korea

Here’s what I found:

After the United States entered World War II, a new selective service act made men between 18 and 45 liable for military service and required all men between 18 and 65 to register. The terminal point of service was extended to two years after the war. From 1940 until 1947—when the wartime selective service act expired after extensions by Congress—over 10,000,000 men were inducted.

AFTER WWII:

In 1948, a new selective service act was passed that required all men aged 19 to 26 to register and that made men aged 19 to 26 liable for 21 months’ service, which would be followed by 5 years of reserve duty.
