I received a call from a person who is trying to provide awareness for this bill, HR-5741. This bill will give Obama complete power over all draft age persons 18-45 My question is, do you think this is a valid concern when the Senate votes on this after the elections perhaps during the holidays I am also sending this to many candidates to help me understand if this could be passed as a part of the lame duck after the election. Would the senate really enrage the people and pass this in a lame duck. I am looking for input as to whether I forward to everyone, as I think this would really upset people. And I want to make sure that this is a valid concern. In breif this is what power would be given to the president:
Presumably the Congress’s power to provide for an Army and Navy, as explicitly set forth in the Constitution, allows conscription for military service.
I would like to see the Constitutional provision that permits Congress to conscript for non-military service. I can’t think of one.
The logical question is, of course, where would this end...why not everyone from age 10 to 80, and why for 2 years. Make it 20 years.

This is the Rangle Bill that he has put forward since the Iraq War began.
Under normal circumstances this bill has never made it out of committee. But with this bunch, one never knows what sour grapes will produce.
Rangel has done this before. I question why Obama would do this, as he would lose his base over it.
If this passed, I would be more than willing to take up arms and fight. I would also prefer to get my government-issued weapons and MREs up front as a “down payment,” so that I could be a more effective fighting machine.
I would also hope they would hand this stuff out on a Friday, to give me two days to prepare. I promise to be there Monday morning!
But not in their 30s or 40s or doing non traditional military duties—that would just make them Obama’s private Brownshirt army with nothing to do except round up his opponents for the wall.
Don’t worry this is the same bill that Charlie Rangle keeps introducing over and over again. There are no co-sponsors and no support from anyone. It is stuck in commitee till it dies.

Frankly I am that guy. 4 kids, work, house wife etc... I would go to jail rather than serve an unconstitutional order. My liberal acquaintances are already talking about this stuff as if it would be a good thing. They are all ready to commit more of other people’s live to their compassion facism. Seriously, the logical disconnect on the left is weird to observe. The same people who cursed George Bush as a facist would acquiece to this tryanny and believe it is a great idea and good for society. We live in evil times!!!

But this isn't anything new! We read of his intent to do this quite awhile back and we talked of it then as ‘Obama’s Army’ preparation.
He even talked of younger children in school and how they would be required to do ‘service’ in the community.
He even said he wanted them ‘just as large and just as well equipped as the Military!

The left loves the draft. It was the main lefty recruitment tool in the 60’s, you could get a mob of kids all wee-weed up and in the street burning things.
Kucinich and others have mentioned the draft as a way to get yoot involved.
