What does Illinois Tea Party candidate Michael Labno have to do to get some attention around here? Does he have to be more like Christine ODonnell: should he make some bizarre comment about meatballs, get caught buying vibrators and boil some frogs?
Or does he have to be more like Illinois Republican candidate Mark Kirk: shall he create an imaginary life story where he single-handedly killed Osama bin Laden with his .50 caliber sniper rifle, was awarded a medal of honor and then devoted his life to reading fairytales to nursery school students?
On October 5, 2010, Rasmussen Reports announced that a statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Kirk picking up 45% of the vote, while Giannoulias earns 41% support. Four percent (4%) back Green Party candidate LeAlan Jones. Another five percent (5%) prefer some other candidate in the race, and six percent (6%) are undecided.
Rasmussen cannot justify its failure to name the some other candidate who has 1% more support than Jones. Disappointing. Rasmussen had a duty to name Labno in the interest of fairness to all parties, to ensure more accurate reporting by the media, and because voters rely heavily on polling numbers to help them make a decision.
Labno shouldnt be ignored for his lack of wack.
Warning to Republicans (or those who are considering voting Republican): If you vote for Mark Kirk, you will be voting for a liberal. So, if you are going to vote for a liberal, then make it easier on yourself and simply vote for Alexi Giannoulias, since hes the real Democrat.
Wait, before you get all worked-up and accuse me, an Illinois Democrat, of trying to persuade the right to lean left, please continue reading because my point has zilch to do with Giannoulias I simply want to make sure that the person you vote for accurately and properly represents you.
Michael Labno may be your guy, instead of Mark Kirk. Why?
Kirk is a Republican. Or is he? Kirk voted to allow the government to confiscate your legally owned firearm in the event of a national emergency. He is pro-choice, saved millions in funding for Planned Parenthood and was just one of 17 Republicans to vote to fund abortions for female inmates. Kirk is for cap and trade and voted for TARP not once, but twice.
Labno is a self-proclaimed recovering Republican; three years sober, officially. He wonders why we still havent found Osama bin Laden and is disappointed with the Republicans support of the bailouts. He wants small businesses and community banks to thrive again. He is pro-life and pro-guns. Labno owns his positions and he hasnt manufactured his qualifications or made up outlandish stories to gain support.
Fred Newbrough, one of Labnos Facebook friends, wrote, We are tired of the same old games by the GOP Kirk is the most horrible candidate imaginable for the Senate. He isnt even reliably fiscally conservative. The good thing is that you, Mike, are in the race. Illinois has a real choice: a Tea Party choice, a conservative choice, a libertarian choice.
Illinois voters, before you allow a senator to drive you to Washington, make sure some other candidate isnt hidden in a blind-spot; otherwise, he may crash before you even get to your final destination.
Yada yada yada. You don’t know how things work in Illinois, pal. The fact you’re attempting to view this through the GOP vs. Dem prism is testament to that.
"Sen. McCain isnt a RINO"
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ... Let me catch my breath...HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
(I guess you've never heard of Rudy McRomney.) HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
Because that's worked out so well for us? No thanks.
The fact I have to EXPLAIN that on a Conservative website is just absurd.
Elect the open crooked Democrat! LOL!
Only Arlen Spector is gone because even the democrats would not have him. The other two are alive and kicking. The dem candidates in Florida and Alaska are weak or the republicans would be in serious trouble right now. You can never trust a RINO. They will turn on you like those I’ve already mentioned.
Only God’s grace is keeping us from losing those two seats.
If the Dem would vote the right way 58% of the time versus the GOPer 0% of the time, I'd have to vote for the Dem.
So you'll be voting for the ultra-liberal Dem. I get it.
Yes, I’ve heard of Rudy McRomney, but I don’t agree with it. McCain and Romney are more conservative than Giulianni.
If it’s “privately” undermining Brady, how do you know about it exactly? And please, list some of your conspiracies that panned out. I care. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have asked. I’m not attempting to “deflect” from anything. You brought up the claim that “everyone on here” knows your conspiracy theories are true. I didn’t bring it up, you did. I merely asked for examples.
And your talking points are no more or less robotic than mine incidentally.
I live in Rep. Kirk’s district, so I know that he’s more liberal than many Democrats. When I vote, if I think that the race will be close, I’ll vote for Kirk, since I don’t want to help split the anti-Democrat vote, helping the Democrat win, with about 49%. If I think that the race won’t be close, I’ll vote for the conservative, probably Mike Labno, the Libertarian.
Nope. I’m going to do what I did when Charlie Crist won the republican primary for governor. I’ll vote for all the good republicans on the ticket and leave the governor’s slot alone.
Sorry, but your little guilt trips don’t work on me. I’m not crazy enough to vote for any libs (R) or (D).
100% right. Too bad Todd & Missesbush doesn't get that.
At least now I know where you stand.
I’ve already laid out my case, it’s in that above link that you dismissed. You’re merely using attention-diverting tactics. RINObots use those to the hilt. I’m glad you admit you’re using talking points.
I’ll give you another... how ‘bout listing all the points you agree with Mark Kirk on ? Pro-abort, pro-illegals, pro-big government, anti-2A ? Which ones ? Why should Conservatives vote for a Socialist RINO who will switch to the Democrat party after they’re done doing damage to our side ? I’m very interested.
Excellent! Helping that Democrat, guilt free. Good for you.
The Illinois race is classified as a toss up in the Rasmussen Senate balance of power counts, with the race being within the margin of error, and classified as 1 of 4 the GOP needs to win to take control of the Senate according to Dick Morris and Ramussen oth. We need 2 of the following 4 to take control of the Senate along with the other races the GOP is likely to win elsewhere: California, Illinois, Nevada, Washington. See for yourself: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2010/election_2010_senate_elections/election_2010_senate_balance_of_power.
California is probably not going to be a GOP win. Washington is highly uncertain. Nevada is a definite possibility. That means we need Illinois as the 2nd toss up seat we need to take for the GOP to send the Dems packing out of the majority. Even if it appears Rossi can win in Washington which is really uncertain at this point, I'd like Illinois as an insurance policy.
I respect your right to vote as you please, but you should consider that race in Illinois is going to be an "Every vote counts election," especially since if it's close you can bet the Dems will pull out all the stops on recounts and mystery ballot boxes suddenly turning up to help put the Dem over the top. They'll use the courts and every shennanigan imaginable to steal the race from Kirk in a close result. Think Al Franken and Minnesota.
Finally, if nothing else, just think of the satisfication and symbolic value of a Republican taking Barack Obama's former Senate seat. It will be a beautiful thing.
At least I’m not stabbing conservatives by voting in the RINO unlike others in the “stupid” party. Charlie Crist anyone? I’m sure you would have loved voting for him.
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!! Pyrrhic victory ! The fact you believe a Kirk “victory” is a blow to Emperor Zero is what’s a real hoot. Having Gov. Brady appoint a NON-Combiner to the seat after Alexi is indicted is the blow to Zero. Too bad you don’t want that.
I don't think either of us ever made the argument that they can be trusted entirely. But based on Kirk's ACU rating of 58%, I can trust him 58% of the time. How often will I be able to trust Giannoulis? Try 0% of the time. I'd rather go with someone with me 58% of the time than someone with me never.
The Libertarian isn't going to win. When was the last time a registered Libertarian won any Senate or Congressional race? It's not going to happen this time unless you want to believe everyone now supporting Kirk will run over to support this nobody Ladbo or whatever his name is.
I have seen posts here claiming that Kirk is also Gay, is that true??????????????
Do you grasp what we’re trying to accomplish after it’s been explained to you all over this thread ? We want to defeat Mark Kirk. Period. If the Libertarian wins, fine. Just so long as it isn’t the Stolen Valor Socialist RINO weasel who is from Zero’s political machine.
