This weekend, the Values Voter Summit took place. As you may remember, prior to the event, the group was complaining that the Republican leaders were not paying attention to their issues any longer. Then, during their meeting, they held a presidential straw poll among those attending, the leaders of the group.
Well, here are the results. Sarah Palin finished fifth with 7%. In fourth was Mr. Family Values himself, Newt Gingrich (10%). In third was the current Republican frontrunner, Mitt Romney (13%). Mike Huckabee (22%) finished second. And you guessed the winner thats right, its Mike Pence (24%).
Reporters were sort of taken aback by these results, since right now there is only one rockstar among family values voters, Sarah Palin. So, they asked Tony Perkins, the head of the Family Research Council, to explain this unusual phenomenon. Perkins responded that Maybe it is that she is more of a cheerleader and one who rallies conservatives together as opposed maybe to being their top choice for president.

I say Tony Perkins must be Psycho.
Sarah is a great communicator, she is unafraid to tell it like it is and definitely not sold out to the Washington mind set of corruption, entitlement of the elite, just let us go along to get along of the Republicans.
Thank God, for cheerleaders.etc.
Ignorance. foolish stupid people among us.
Who in the heck was voting there ? DNC mulls ?
Has anyone seen his mother lately?
Tony sounds just like you! LOL.
OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That sexism from the FRC is gonna go over real well.
I’m guessing some real out of touch old timers frankly, Mike Pence? All I can say is there are going to be a lot of very suprised folks, the world has changed, and a lot of folks don’t know it yet.
Or perhaps the prefer their women barefoot and pregnant.
Funny, it was Palin who was cheerleading for McQueeg, not me.
Ol’ Tony’s probably just pissant that Palin’s shown you don’t have to attend his event en route to a presidential run.
Gov. Palin may indeed view herself as best suited for a king/queen-maker role. She is a realist.
She is skilled at holding others’ feet to the fire, and can play a truly valuable role in keeping candidates aligned to the values and principles the PEOPLE really want to vote for.
I also believe Palin (just by being herself and the Media image of her) is too valuable for the Dimocrats as a motivating persona. SHE can get the Dims out to vote.
while not as anti-Palin as pissant ;-) I *DO* see a greater value in Palin as a ‘cheer leader’ than a candidate.
How would she get Democrats out to vote more than any other candidate ?
this is what I don’t understand about your argument. Wouldnt any conservative fire up the Dem base ? President Bush did. dont forget.. he won twice
And Tony Perkins is who... again?
The retread from the 90s. Who’s trying hard to ride the Tea Party wave. Yeah. That would be him.
he sounds like a sexist pig..not a christian
Oh, wait a minute.......

Yes it may well be that Tony P is not pulling for Sarah to win the nomination if she runs. I have heard him in the past on the question of Sarah for President, and he did not seem to share my opinion.
Sarah has been demonized by the MSM, it has reached Tony even.
Whom ever the nominee is, will be demonized, this is a fact!
Foolish to not go with the one that will fill the stadiums, that`s all I can say.
If Mike Pence was to win the nomination, he to will be portrayed as a right win extremist, so everybody should take a breath. Mike I am sure would make a great Prez btw
The most extreme position a person can hold is to be pro life, according to the LSM.
Sarah is the only way to fly
It’s funny when people don’t read the whole item before they post it. Especially when it’s a short item. Especially when the rest of the item clowns the point they were trying to make by posting it.
everyone loves cheerleaders.
none expect them to be quarterback.
