I was checking around online to find a convenient place nearby to get an annual flu shot, as is my habit, but so far, every place offering shots this year I have gone to is stating something along the lines of this: "The H1N1 component is included in this year's Seasonal Influenza Immunization."
They don't offer a "plain vanilla" flu shot, so to speak, that is, a regular flu shot, WITHOUT any H1N1. If I am unable to find a flu shot offered without H1N1 included, then I will be skipping it this year. My wife is a health care professional, and has the exact same opinion -- she won't take a flu shot that includes H1N1
I have done an online search, and so far, have been unable to find any information whatsoever about this. This surprises me, since we all know what a controversy H1N1 vaccinations were last year, and that many refused to take them, including some health care workers, somewhere in NY state, as I recall. I also recall that the all-knowing gubmint, with the assistance of their slavish lapdog Leftist media, tried to create a panic about H1N1 in 2009. But many refused to take the controversial vaccine, so they had a lot of H1N1 vaccine left over.
So I wonder what is going on here? Did the gubmint freeze all the vaccine and are they forcing the inclusion of that leftover H1N1 in all flu vaccines this year? Or perhaps it is brand new H1N1 vaccine, but I'm still suspicious that the Federal goobermint is involved. Either way, I want no part of H1N1, and neither does my wife.
Anyone have any knowledge about this topic to share?

That just pisses me off. I deliberately did NOT get a H1N1 shot last year because I have a history of over-reacting to meds, etc.
Guess I won’t be getting any flu shot this year.

Private companies produce the flu vaccines, but do they all bow down and only produce the vaccine according to a formula given to them by gangsta’ gubmint??

Flu shots are not “ala-carte.” It’s a binary system: You either get the shot with the three strains they pick out this year, or you don’t. Just like every year since they were invented.

I think health care workers in Philadephia can now be fired for refusing the flu shot.
They manufacture new vaccine every year, and this year’s contains H1N1 along with other flu strains.
I’ve never had a problem with a flu shot. What sort of problem do you and your wife anticipate?

How do you know that?
Don’t disagree with you at all. IIRC, H1N1 showed up in Mexico 1st aboutthe time 0bama visited there. I remember that archaeologist fellow 0bama shook hands with up and died within days from H1N1.
I also know someone who came down with it. He was as sick as a dog.
I didn’t get the shot and won’t. I don’t trust the feds anymore on anything health related. Not anymore. All those databases. All that tracking, DNA gathering, who knows what.
Negative reactions to the swine flu vaccine is a statistical game. CDC has no viable statistics because of their poor collection of data on the flu and shot reactions last year.
Australia banned the vaccine after analyzing it’s statistical damage along with other European nations.

Does it have to be fresh motor oil straight out of the can or can I use used motor oil?
I’m one of those people who steer clear from those shots because of the preservatives used in them, in combination with human idiocy ala` NautiNurse’s post. There are things like Guillan Barre` syndrome and autism that i believe can be triggered by “hot shots”; which occurs when a vial has been stored long enough for the heavier components like thimerasol (mercury based) to settle. When the syringe is filled in a vial that is almost empty, that had not been properly shaken, one would get a much more concentrated dose of these chemicals. I know there has been much debate on the thimerasol thing, but i don’t think they’re looking at it from this perspective when studies are done.
Ask for preservative-free vaccines and you should be alright.
Mine did. Got it a few weeks ago. But I had the oink last year so it really wasn’t needed.

I'm with you. I've NEVER gotten a flu shot and surprise! I've NEVER gotten the flu!
I have had full-blown “Flu” one time in my life. It it coincidence that it was the same year I received my one-and-only flu shot? You decide. As for me - too much “coincidence” for my taste (and I don’t believe in coincidence).

"In the meantime I am now advising that if parents of children under five years of age wish to have their children vaccinated against seasonal flu that they should discuss with their GP or vaccine provider the use of Vaxigrip or Influvac."
According to this article, Merck is distributing CSL manufactured vaccine. Just avoid that one and get one by Sanofi Pasteur; MedImmune; GlaxoSmithKline, or GSK; or Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp.
Glad they researched the problem instead of ignoring it like our govenrment.
Guillian Barre is a real, if rare possibility. There is so much research that now shows that autism is not related to vaccination.
There is no such thing as a plain Flu shot, it is always a trivalent shot with the three varieties predicted to be the most risk for the coming year. If memory serves, there is always a bird flu, and swine flu strain in the vaccine. If they had seen H1N1 a little earlier last year, it would have been included the standard vaccine series instead of whatever other swine flu strain they picked.
