Rossi Imploding
NW Republican ^ | 9/15/10 | Staff

Posted on 09/16/2010 6:08:47 PM PDT by pissant

Real Clear Politics reporting of the polling in the Murray vs. Rossi Senate race shows that in less than one month there has been a 16 point swing in Murray's favor. An August 18-19 Survey USA poll showed Rossi with a 7 point lead. A CNN/Time poll take September 9-14 showed Murray with a 9 point lead. So, in less than a month, Rossi has lost 16 points — an implosion by most definitions.

This is Rossi's third try at state-wide office. If he doesn't win this time, he's deservedly finished.

Dino Rossi is doing fine. If you look at all the polls in the aggregate, you will see that he is leading Murray among independents by a comfortable margin and, if turnout in WA is as expected, he will win by 3%-5%. WA was never going to be a blowout.

I think that Didier should act like a real Republican (instead of like a conservative version of Mike Castle or Lisa Murkowski) and endorse Rossi and campaign with him, thus ensuring the type of conservative turnout that would make it impossible for Murray to win. Didier would increase his name ID and campaign skills, prove to WA Republicans that he’s a team player, and then run against Senator Cantwell in 2012. As it is, his sour grapes are turning off a lot of Republicans who like Didier but just happened to think that Rossi had a better chance of beating Murray to his greater name ID and political skills.

Murray's ads have been interupting Jeopardy for well over a month now...luckily, we all know the drill...MUTE!

she is running her ads as if Rossi IS the establishment, part of the back room deals, and the financial crisis....

Rossi had better get out there and shout it loud and clear that MURRAY IS THE STATUS QUO AND HAS HELPED TO RUIN OUR COUNTRY....

he did fight the first thief....the republican secretary of state and the republican attorney general as well as a Bush appointed judge literally stole it away from him for good after the rats stole it away from him...

he better start getting mad....deepen his voice...show a little passion....I've sent him money but he better get on the move....

Didier has a shot at governorship or the Senate in two years.....I wish he would stop the pettiness because Murray is a card carrying marxist who need to be yanked...

“I’m sure all the media and polls will be showing big swings to the democrats in the next month or so. The media will do all it can to demoralize the dems competition.”

I think your 1st sentence is correct. I’m not so sure about your 2nd one though. People are fired up around the country (hopefully in WA, too) and want to ‘throw the incumbents/bums/dems out. If it looks like ol’ Patty is ahead, maybe the Dims won’t send in their ballots and the conservatives and Pubbies and independents will be more diligent about returning their ballots (a girl can always hope, can’t she).

One thing I’m concerned about is the statewide mail-in ballots (IIRC except for 1 county) - - seems like a HUGH opportunity for dim voter fraud (maybe even more than in previous years).

I’m hopeful that Larsen will be gone and Herrerea will win - maybe that will help Dino over the line in 2 counties.

Whether they are successful or not, the media will still try to demoralize us, I have no doubts about that. They love those libs so much.

Hopefully they won’t be taking lessons from Fast Eddie Rendell in Pennsylvania. If they do, look forward to having 108 percent of the mail-in ballots returned. I assure you they will be predominantly for the dems.

I hope so, but 3 polls in a row are showing Murray over 50+. Looks to me like the dem leaders up there are having success herding the sheep back to the corral.

You can’t compare two different polls this way.

Well, he’s stepping it up a little. This in the Seattle Times online:

Rossi accuses Murray of “shortchanging” voters on debates

“Sen. Murray is shortchanging you and the other voters of our state by denying them the chance to hear directly from her about her votes which have jeopardized the economy and put our fellow citizens out of work,” Rossi said in the letter.

OTOH -
And, Chris Vance had this to say, “
says new polls show Patty Murray ahead of Dino Rossi in their race for the U.S. Senate - but he’s uncertain why Murray is bucking the trend in other races.”

Nice post.

You’re right, regardless of whether the Tea Party, Establishment or some other faction’s candidate is the winner, all losers should recognize and accept the will of the people and be team players. What’s wrong with people like Didier, Castle, Murkowski any way? Don’t they have just a basic grasp of what Democracy means? They’re no different than Idi Amin, Kim Jong Il, or a host of other despicable despotic president-for-life types...

my husband went to a fundraiser for a local Catholic school and Rossi spoke...this was last year.....he was very personable and likeable and has old fashioned values...

and besides....Murray is a lock step rat who is as stupid as a rock but gets by with her unionists...

we can stop her this year...

when you're throwing money around, don't forget Rossi....beating Murray will be a big,big win and its still very within reach....
