I asked Jim Robinson today to delete my account on Free Republic. He asked me to post an opus so some folks would not think that I was banned for no reason. Here is my brief opus:
Thank you Free Republic and Good Bye. This was an excellent forum for many years but now I do not think it is so in my humble opinion. The trend where the forum is going is very clear to me and I do not want to be part of it.
For all the Freepers with whom I have had good relationship and great discussions I want to thank you for all the good time we had together on this forum.
God Bless America and Our Brave Troops.
PS: Now Jim Robinson can ban my account.
jveritas posted that.
I never understood that picture till I saw the movie and then I LMAO!!
Wait,he had an office?
Allegra left?
So JVeritas is actually Karl Rove?
LOL! I think the newbies REALLY pissed her off.
That's what I saw on her "farewell" thread.
Yeah, and it was a good one, too. Corner, view of the downtown skyline, a thirty second walk from the executive washroom.
But it's mine now, so don't even think about it.
(((Hugs back)) Beware though, we’ll be accused of lowering the discourse here. And you know what? I don’t care. :)
I didn’t know Harpies had friends.
Unfortunately, the men who scream the loudest around here (and on TV) are little girls.
So you were the “A vote for a 3rd party is a vote for the democrats guy huh?” Good riddance, you leave on the cusp of victory? It can only mean you are on the other team or seriously misguided. It’s tough to watch the ol’ guard die, but it’s time, better times are ahead.
I might rather see Helen Thomas.
Dang.
How depressing.
Anyway, I thought Opus was a Penguin.
One of them. Glad for it, too, since third parties are for mouth-breathing retards.
Jeez, I always thought you were a pretty cool dude, Mr J. This sniffs of cutting and running, though, and that’s exactly the wrong attitude Conservatives need to be taking right now.
Sorry to see you go.
Here's the thing about us old timers around here: We've seen it all ... probably two, three times or more on this forum and have seen groups of temper-tantrum throwers come and go.
None of which has ever 'upset' me, rather I've been mostly amused by it all. Life's too short to let what some anonymous poster on a public chat forum bother me, especially if they're taking personal aim.
A debate over political ideology and ideas I'm all for. Heck I've learned a thing or two on here over the years (mostly from fellow old farts.)
But I gotta tell ya, these newbies on here (pretty much everyone that signed up after 1999) just have no class, little education, and no sense of humor. They tend to whine about everything, take their ball and go home when they start losing an argument or their feelings get hurt, then go crying to an Admin Mod.
I mean for crying out loud, if they don't have a stomach for the fight on an anonymous public political chat forum, what the bloody hell do they think is going to happen to them in REAL LIFE??
OMG, the HORROR OF IT ALL!
“What the heck happened???”
Not totally sure what happened. But from a username search he got fed up at users who joined since 2007. Had some beef with their opinions and said the IQ dropped. He did say something about Rino obsessed people on here.
This poster is some sort of Arab it seems because in another post he ranted about his heritage being taken out of context or something. He kept saying he was American first.
I don’t care to go into any of the discussion.
I have been with FR for nearly 14 years — first as ElwoodP, then a HampdenKid. And I think FR is better than ever. JR is leading us in a revolution. And I for one am deeply grateful.
As to why I got banned as ElwoodP, it was for accusing a nasty vixen of having PE. I won’t spell it out because HampdenKid wants to stay around!
