Candy from strangers, Kool-Aid from Jim Jones...
ice cream from Google.ConsumerWatchdog.org has launched a viral video against Internet tracking, by lampooning Google's CEO, Eric Schmidt. Schmidt stars as the creepy ice cream salesman offering free "ice cream" (and full body scans) to unsuspecting children. "They should know there's no such thing as free ice cream!" snickers Schmidt. Ironically, the video is being broadcast on Google's own YouTube and on the Jumbotron in New York's Times Square.
Please reply or FReepmail, if you want on or off this list.
Looks like the video’s been pulled already...

That’s an expensive animation. I wonder who really bankrolled it. Pixar?
Interesting question. We're a little overdue for some big money to be spent fighting the new fascism in America.
Thanks. Just bad URL editing, pardon.
As always, I suggest going to the Gulag Bound source:

Firefox add-on disrupts Google data collection
(Presently running GoogleSharing and Ghostery, but may need to look at other options.)
BUMP.
I do not use google. Ever.
"When InPrivate Browsing is turned on, you will see this indicator

Dont be Google Bound
# 7 and # 9.
[Thanks, maggief.]
Neither do I unless I go through an anon proxy. I use Bing and it’s my default search engine. If I need more info and use Google, I hide, then use it.
Bing is my default search engine, and I try to use it most of the time. But unfortunately google does a much more thorough job of finding things, than any of the other search engines I’ve tried. So when Bing fails, I turn to google.
Thanks for pings. I had not heard of the IE ‘in private browsing option’. That’s interesting and I’ll check into it.
Lol, if anyone ‘comes’ for me it will be because of my political graphics!! - otherwise I’m a pretty innocent person.....!
Using it right now. It is in the Safety tab on my toolbar.
I just hope I can remember all my passwords. LOL! Thanks for
the tip!
Welcome ..;)
Takes awhile to get in the habit, but
after a couple of days, you’ll just
look up at the check mark on the top
right of the screen and click for
InPrivate.
Google anymore without InPrivate is like
the swine flu to me .. LOL.
Well, I don’t see a check-mark, but maybe it is there when you first turn on the browser? I like the idea of not being spied upon! LOL!
When I open it up, there’s a series of
icons at the top, including a house,
one for email, one for printer ..
you can mouse over them and their
function shows.
Then there’s the check mark and 3 more.
And when you mouse over the check mark,
it’s safety, and you see the InPrivate
listing there, among others, to choose.
Let me know .. I’d be surprised if you
didn’t have those and my old, barely
chugging along computer does .. and
I’ve NOT downloaded the newest version
of 8, which keeps popping up for me
to do.
Oh, those! LOL! I have hidden them, except for “home”. I can get to them by mousing over the >> at the end of the line. I’ll have to get in the habit of turning it on, though.
I have to look into the one for Firefox that I read about on another thread.
Same here. Bing came with this computer.
Thanks for the ping and info. I’ve been meaning to tackle the google issue by finding other search engines and methods. This will help. Google sucks anyway...ever since they became the fascist arm of Obama and his thugs.
