I had mead for the first time back in April a new friend made it down in Oak Ridge,LA.I really think it is another name for what he made because it was made with honey and fruit.

I like most all beers made by DFH their 60 min. IPA and 90 min IPA are great. They make a 120 min IPA that is a 20 mega ton hop bomb and very expensive at $10 for a 12 oz. bottle.

Traditional meads are just honey wines, but non-traditional variations have existed for a very long time. Spent half a day in a peach grove, harvesting for the guild's brewmaster, and enjoyed the fruits of my labor, so to speak, when he uncorked a peach mead that was just out of this world. The overripe peaches we got for five bucks a bushel just made a delightful wine that is incredible when served over freshly churned vanilla bean ice cream.

I have a Kentucky cheroot fired up right now. A poor man’s smoke, but very satisfying.
