Ron Paul: “I don’t believe for a minute that the religion of Islam is our enemy.”

As if we needed anymore proof of Ron Paul’s anti-American treachery — and no, I am not speaking of his inclusion in the Democrats’ list of favorite Republicans (though it’s also quite telling), — he’s finally waded into the Ground Zero mosque controversy where — unsurprisingly — he’s chalked it all up to yet another conspiracy theory, fomented by those war-lovin’ neo-cons:

“I think it’s a big distraction, a grand distraction from the real issues… To me it should have been a grand opportunity, and you really touched on the opportunity, because it’s really a property rights issue, and who owns the property? And it’s also a civil liberties issue. It’s a freedom of speech issue… Property rights and civil rights are one and the same… drives the neo-cons nuts… I don’t believe for a minute that the, quote, religion of Islam is our enemy.”

Really, Ron? And I suppose Al-Qaeda is just a CIA fantasy, too?

For the record, the majority of Americans and politicians who oppose the mosque fully understand the constitutional right to build it. Then again, most of us also understand that Islam is a strident political ideology wrapped up in the cloak of religion, and that jihadists committed an act of war against the United States on September 11, 2001 — not the United States government — all in the name of Islam. Further, understanding the history of Cordoba, we are cognizant of the fact that such a mosque is nothing short of a monument to their bloody victory over the “Great Satan” and 3,000 of its citizens on 9/11.

I  know its tough for you libertarians — much like your foreign policy kindred spirits, liberals — to place a moral judgment on anything, but out of respect for 9/11′s grieving families, it would be nice if you’d grant them some deference on this emotionally supercharged, morally reprehensible issue. It would also be refreshing if you’d actually give your country the benefit of the doubt, instead of blaming it for the existence of a so-called religion that preaches death to infidels, practices pedophilia, commits unspeakable crimes against women, and actively engages in a worldwide, genocidal movement with the ultimate goal of imposing a worldwide Muslim Caliphate.

In short, since you’re so fond of conspiracy theories, maybe you can believe in one that’s actually true: Global Jihad. Then temper your constitutional remarks about the Ground Zero mosque with some intelligence and real compassion for your own countrymen — especially those who lost everything on 9/11.

But what about those who want to impose the opposite and will do so when they have enough population to do so.

A nation that allows this to happen is lost - by which I mean that the laws/mores/principles of "the opposite" come to dominate. (Why do you think Islamic nations ban Western culture?)

Pat Buchanan is a pariah here on Free Republic. But he's absolutely right on this point. Even conservatives have swallowed "neutrality" hook, line and sinker. Now our acquiescence and tolerance have once more become a club with which to beat us.

The founders of this nation were not this naive.

Okay, then please correct me. Do you support the right (not necessarily rightness) of the specific private owners on the land in question to build a mosque?

Not if the particular use of the property is an act of war on the United States.

The 9-11 attacks WERE an act of war, and this mosque is an extension of that act. It is a direct attack on our people, our principles, and liberty.

Of course I believe they have the right to build it. I also believe people have the right to protest outside it daily, organize boycotts against anyone involved, encourage construction workers to walk off the job, built barbecues and/or gay bars next to it, and any other non-violent means to prevent this thing from being built.

Ron Paul: “I don’t believe for a minute that the religion of Islam is our enemy.”

True, Dr Paul believes that.

May the next muslim attacks take him and his family.

Paul only runs as a Republican to win elections.

His presidential campaign manager has said this.

The only reason Ron Paul does not Run Libertarian is ability to win on Republican ticket is greater:

“Would Paul run as a Republican again or as a Libertarian? "We try not to ever deal in absolutes in politics," Benton said carefully. "But he would be very likely to be running as a Republican again." It's not just that "working within the system" gets more exposure for a candidate. It's that several Republican primary states include the caveat that candidates cannot run in their primaries and go third party if they lose.”

You are very concerned about Islam.

You want to take my money to fight it.

I want to keep my money.

Ron Paul also is Pro-Life on Abortion.

Republicans are Pro-Life, usually, Libertarians typically aren’t.

Conservatives, like myself, believe in smaller government.

“If we added up the killed and wounded in Democrat wars in this century, it would be about 1.6 million Americans” - Bob Dole

I believe in defending our borders. Not fighting endless expensive wars in the Middle East.

I use the term POS a fair amount here in FR... describing communists, muzzies, street-criminals and other assorted villains.

But with Ron Paul, I actually think of the literal meaning of THE term when I use it to describe him.

Ron Paul is literally a POS.

Most libertarians - and even many conservatives - believe a nation can stand if its laws/mores/principles are merely neutral.

Unlimited immigration is a libertarian goal, that means that American law/mores/prinicials will become whatever the third world colonists want, if sharia law is desired, then sharia law it will be.

Don't be naive about things like Islam and the conquest of the world through immigration, and operating within the system at first, changing the system as much as they can, and then becoming the system.

Ron Paul also is Pro-Life on Abortion.

Not in any way that matters. He thinks states' right trumps the unalienable right to life. In other words, he's pro-choice for states.

Conservatives, like myself, believe in smaller government.

Liberals, like you, believe in a weaker military.

Democrat war? It's an American war against your Jihad buddies.

I’m a conservative, I believe in smaller government.

You, like the Democrats, see a “problem” and want to take my money to fund your “solution”.

You’re always coming up with ways to take my money.

Do he and Rand talk? Can they talk after such blather? How can he be in the same room with a wacko father and not be associated with him?

You have forgotten that WWI, WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War were all entered into under Democrat Presidents.

I was just repeating what Bob Dole said in 1976.

Clinton had a fair share of wars, and Obama has been escalating in Afghanistan.

Democrats are never short on war, they love taking our money and spending it.

I’d like to see our borders defended. I’d like to see illegal alien Muslims deported. Any illegal aliens deported.

We don’t need to be taking my money to fight endless wars on the other side of the globe.
