Fresh off his vacation, MSNBC's Pat Buchanan came out swinging Tuesday on "Morning Joe," calling former House Speaker Newt Gingrich a "political opportunist" for his comments about the proposed mosque in New York City.
On Monday, Gingrich compared the building of a proposed mosque near Ground Zero to Nazis putting up "a sign next to the Holocaust Museum" or "the Japanese putting up a site next to Pearl Harbor."
Buchanan argued that Gingrich's controversial comments were meant to position him to the right of his potential GOP primary opponent, Sarah Palin, on the issue.
Say what you will about Pat but he is right on with his assessment about Mr Newt.
Iam not defending anyone here but Buchanan works for a bunch of liberals.
He is getting a nice paycheck to be a fake moderate in politics.
I can’t agree with you. I think Newt is damaged goods because of his personal life so I don’t support him. If you held a gun to my head though and said I had to pull the ballot box lever for either Newt or Pat Buchanan it would be Newt in a heartbeat.

And no, I don't support a presidential run for Newt. Just wanted to set that record straight.

Like Scarborough, Buchanan has really sold his soul to MSNBC. Not a single dissenting voice on Morning Joe this morning. Everyone agrees the mosque should be build. Incredible.
Maybe Pat could discuss the merits of what Newt said instead of trashing him.

Buchanan sounds like a flaming liberal nowadays. He was so far right of anyone in his prime.
He is buttering his bread. They all are. But I am so sick of this merry go round. The dems get on and they ruin things worse than Carter and Obama then enter the GOP and it is better by far but all of congress and the senate/ all of DC needs huge pay cuts and or downsized.
