The stunning decline of Barack Obama: 10 key reasons why the Obama presidency is in meltdown
London Telegraph Blogs (U.K.) ^ | August 12, 2010 | Nile Gardiner

The last few weeks have been a nightmare for President Obama, in a summer of discontent in the United States which has deeply unsettled the ruling liberal elites, so much so that even the Left has begun to turn against the White House. While the anti-establishment Tea Party movement has gained significant ground and is now a rising and powerful political force to be reckoned with, many of the president’s own supporters as well as independents are rapidly losing faith in Barack Obama, with open warfare breaking out between the White House and the left-wing of the Democratic Party. While conservatism in America grows stronger by the day, the forces of liberalism are growing increasingly weaker and divided.

Against this backdrop, the president’s approval ratings have been sliding dramatically all summer, with the latest Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll of US voters dropping to minus 22 points, the lowest point so far for Barack Obama since taking office. While just 24 per cent of American voters strongly approve of the president’s job performance, almost twice that number, 46 per cent, strongly disapprove. According to Rasmussen, 65 per cent of voters believe the United States is going down the wrong track, including 70 per cent of independents.

The RealClearPolitics average of polls now has President Obama at over 50 per cent disapproval, a remarkably high figure for a president just 18 months into his first term. Strikingly, the latest USA Today/Gallup survey has the President on just 41 per cent approval, with 53 per cent disapproving.

There are an array of reasons behind the stunning decline and political fall of President Obama, chief among them fears over the current state of the US economy, with widespread

There is REALLY only one reason.

He’s a devout MUSLIM, anti-American, anti-capitalist, freedom-hating, Marxist.

There, fixed it for you.

I'd say "meltdown" is, if not exactly the right word, at least a reasonable description. "Strongly Disapprove" is trending up, very slowly but it's not flat. "Strongly Approve" has a clear downward trend with the exception of the occasional bump upward. The socialist is toast, and I'm grateful that the voters wised up before he did even more damage than the Stimulus/TARP/Stim2 that we've already suffered through.

May Americans reverse abortion on demand,
May we return to church,
May we repeal gay marriage laws,
May we stop pandering to Muslims.

Then may the curse that is the liberal agenda run by our Islamic president be reversed,

Call upon the lord and turn away from you wicked ways, America,
This has been a warning.

There is a distinctly Titanic-like feel to the Obama presidency and it’s not hard to see why. The most left-wing president in modern American history has tried to force a highly interventionist, government-driven agenda that runs counter to the principles of free enterprise, individual freedom, and limited government that have made the United States the greatest power in the world, and the freest nation on earth.

...A nice summary of what so many Americans feel today.

And he’s passing out Union Money to the teachers.

One can't help but wonder what percentage of the teachers being called back now wouldn't rather take as much of that 99-week unemployment benefit as possible.

Besides that, Obama hasn't cut back on No Child Left Behind, which is a disaster with all of its requirements. Summary....the teacher's union heads might be easier to buy off than are the rank-and-file teachers.

No, unfortunately there were enough idiots that stayed home... People stayed home and voted for nobody.. which put the fool in the White House.

The 2008 loss IMHO was a direct result of a horrible decision by the Bush Presidency NOT to engage its critics and fight them non stop. They sat quietly in the White House and let the dems/commies lie about them daily without response. So by the time 2008 came around, it would have been difficult for any R to have won, much less a moderate one like McCain.

Which planet is Mr. Obama from, anyway? I could only think of one thing he has done the I like since he has taken office, and no I cannot remember it (sr. moment). It was, in all fairness something really minor, not really related to the real problems America faces.

The economy sucks...Joe Sixpack on the street gets that. Bill Clinton was famous for campaigning on “It’s the economy, stupid.”

But let’s face it, 0bama made more pie-in-the-sky promises than any candidate in history. He was going to shut Gitmo within a year, use civilian trials for terrorists, get out of Iraq within 18 months, filibuster Telecom Immunity, kill the Patriot Act, prevent unemployment from going above 8%, reform healthcare...

After a year of nothing, 0bama was *desperate* to keep at least one promise. But Scott Brown surprised the political elite by winning his Senate race for “Teddy Kennedy’s seat” in MA.

Suddenly, 0bama no longer had a filibuster-proof Senate majority.

To keep just one campaign promise, the House would have to pass the Senate’s version of 0bamacare along Party lines.

No Republicans voted for any part of 0bamacare.

0bama got his healthcare law...but it was crap. 2,700 pages of new regulations to be saddled onto over-burdened tax-payers.

So now, because 0bamacare is crap, Democrats can’t “run on their record” in 2010.

The news media can’t even tell a big enough lie to fool the American people about 0bamacare.

In sum, the lapdog news media has nothing to gloat about for 0bama. They can’t hype his record because 0bamacare sucks.

What the news media *could* do was downplay the Gulf oil spill response. Sure, 0bama botched the containment and cleanup of the BP oil well disaster...but the news media didn’t have to dwell on it.

Even so, ignoring 0bama’s faults isn’t enough to save Democrats in November.

This leaves them staring at the bad economy...so they pass Stimulus after Stimulus, bailout after bailout...just this week alone they passed a Teacher’s bailout and a Medicare bailout.

Won’t work. They’ll need lots more than that to bribe enough voters.

Until then, Democrats are getting creamed for the economy...and the news media has nothing to hold up as a shining example of an 0bama success. Even a stopped clock gets it right twice a day...and if 0bama was as good as a stopped clock, the news media would hype whatever he got right 24/7 through the November elections.

0bama’s simply been so much of a failure that he has no such success to be hyped.

He’s a Zero.

A complete failure.

"The 2008 loss IMHO was a direct result of..."

Rank and file Conservatives being too lazy to promote a better candidate than the Institution's default choice: McCain.

It's your fault. It's my fault. We got lazy. We weren't proactive back during the 2007 part of the Campaign.

McCain?! Oy vey...

1. The Obama presidency is out of touch with the American people

Of course he is out of touch with Americans, he is not one of us.

2. Most Americans don’t have confidence in the president’s leadership

Dictators cannot lead a Free People, it is like trying to push a rope.

3. Obama fails to inspire

Those who only choose to destroy cannot by definition inspire anyone.

4. The United States is drowning in debt

The issue here is not the debt, but his disregard for adding to it.

5. Obama’s Big Government message is falling flat

Centralized planning has never and never will work. It is impossible for a top down system to work. No "human" had enough wisdom to organize anything this large.

6. Obama’s support for socialised health care is a huge political mistake

Centralized planning has never and never will work. It is impossible for a top down system to work. No "human" had enough wisdom to organize anything this large.

7. Obama’s handling of the Gulf oil spill has been weak-kneed and indecisive

He surrounds himself with fellow Marxists. Marxist only steal and destroy, are incapable of building anything.

8. US foreign policy is an embarrassing mess under the Obama administration

If he told anyone what his foreign policy agenda truely was, he would be impeached.

9. President Obama is muddled and confused on national security

How can a man intent on destroying the United States project any sense of national security. He wants anything but a secure nation.

10. Obama doesn’t believe in American greatness

Obozo is the only "Anti-American" President (or resident). He illegally holds the office and all 3 branches of government knows it.

I keep thinking back to 1994, when we all knew that Clinton was toast and could not possibly win re-election in 2 years.

The harder the Democrats get slapped down this November, the higher they will bounce back by 2012. Also, never underestimate the power of Republicans to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

The only group that Obama can count upon is the blacks. No matter what he does, blacks will support him. If you want to talk about racism, voting for or against someone purely on the basis of skin color, that would be the black voters. Of course, when blacks do it, it is called, identification politics. I saw a sign on Drudge, carried by a little black girl, which read, A Job Is A Right. That just about says it all. The majority of blacks in this country have a plantation mentality. They simply go from one master to another. This time it is Massa Uncle Sam.
