That's what I heard. Governor Palin will announce her candidacy for President in 2012 at the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Ronald Reagan's birth, on February 11th 6th, 2011. At his Library.
This is as close to testing the waters on playing with the idea I've found yet. The dream ticket for the GOP is now Palin-Huckabee. At least in Wasilla. BTW, it's just a rumor

Palin/Huck.
Yup. That’s the ticket.
Palin has about as much chance of picking that mean little example of walking sumbitchery as she has of digging up the body of Josef Mengele and running with him.
Next rumor? Palin/Crist.
Best,
Chris
Sarah Palin Will Announce Her Candidacy On Feb 6th 2011 In Tampico, Illinois
I was thinking Bachmann for veep. She at least has to be considered
Well, these family members are pretty solid Republicans. They think he’s grand. I don’t see it.
It’s sad how many Rs don’t quite get the R vs C thing.
palin/bolton 2012
The balancing theory would suggest someone from the Northeast or a swing Midwestern state, with experience in DC, somewhat older. The trouble really is how many GOP veterans are so wishy-washy on spending (and immigration)—let alone those in the Northeast. Coming from a swing state that could be delivered might be ideal.
I think Santorum is already jockeying for it, but won’t get it. To unite the party there’d probably be a lot of pressure to take Mitt, though Daniels would please a lot of insiders too. TPaw would be thrilled to be asked. She might be tempted by Paul Ryan, though that would be a real wildcard, seen as a ‘reach’. Pence might do. McDonnell would probably be too safe and dull. (I don’t see Palin erring on that end of the scale!) Christie and Brown will be exposed as too liberal. The usual game is to put at least one woman on the reported short list, and Brewer and Bachmann might get those rumors, but I’m sure she’d pick a man. Perry would be a mistake—he speaks far too much like W for the taste of the needed moderates and independents. TX should be a safe state for her, too.
As if the VP matters...
For my part, I’m not pinging the list to this.
Hillbuzz had the first story way back when.
However, we are going to have to become accustomed to the fact that Sarah will have to reach across the party (like Reagan and every other successful candidate did) for a V.P. choice - which means it will be Romney, or someone the Establishment GOP will support.
That's just how it goes.
I think you meant to type:
“The dream ticket for the Dems is Palin/Huckabee”
What is it, exactly, that Huckabee brings to the table?
ML/NJ
Noooooooooooooooooooooo! And (Not Jon and) Kate Gosling will be named, what, Sec. of State? Would the Huskster keep his TV show? Kate could co-host! Sarah could give Presidential speeches on the Huckabee show!
These two have a place in the party but they've blown any chances at the White House. I hope, anyway.
HUCKABEE??????
NO, NO, NO!!!!!!
Not a chance.
I don’t see Palin using the 100th B-day of Reagan as a platform for announcing her candidacy thinking it as disrespectful and tacky.
You know, skimming the thread..enjoying the pics...after reading your comment..I just had this really weird thought..could she, would she..FLIP the 2008 ticket?..pick McCain as her VP..announce it early on..just think about it...
You betcha, we’ve heard too many rumors and there’s been too many stories already, and secondly, her announcement will be the best kept secret of all. *wink*
BC - I forgot to ping you to my ping to the other list holders. I apologize. I posted in my usual hurry.
she better not— she needs bolton with foreign policy experience
RNC just pushed back the primary season. No caucus or primary before the first Tuesday in Feb. Goal is to avoid candidates racking up a large lead in a few states.
