NFL Player Puts Islam Above Team
Logans Warning ^ | August 9Th, 2010 | Christopher Logan

Once again we see Islam being brought into the workplace. Today we learn that Minnesota Vikings safety Husain Abdullah, has decided that fasting and playing at a lower level, is more important than giving it his all for the team.

Even while sprinting in the heat and humidity during drills, sometimes in full pads, Abdullah is adamant about his faith. He will not allow himself so much as a cup of water until the sun sets and before it rises.

“I’m putting nothing before God, nothing before my religion,” Abdullah said. “This is something I choose to do, not something I have to do. So I’m always going to fast.

Koufax wasn’t a day-to-day player, so that really wasn’t a big deal.

He did play at a lower level.

“Last year it occurred in early September, and we saw a dip in his performance,” coach Brad Childress said. “We said, ‘What’s wrong with Husain Abdullah? It doesn’t seem like he has enough spunk.

Try reading next time. Jews are not on a worldwide movement trying to impose a set of barbaric religious laws on all. Muslims are though, so your comparison is not valid.

Well, that’s an interesting spin, though it says more about you than the player.

There was a guy from Brigham Young Univ a few years ago that was drafted pretty high up. Once drafted he said that he couldn’t play on Sundays because he was a Morman & Sundays were for church.

It’s a big difference between an indoor sport, and an outdoor sport in 90+ degree weather.

I agree. While I don't have a problem with what this guy is doing; I think the team should have some sort of "out" in his contract. They will not be getting their money's worth with this guy.

It is no spin.....

Muslims are on a worldwide movement, trying to impose religious laws on all. The religion allows lying, rape, and the extortion of Christians and Jews. Yet here you are supporting it, that say a lot about you.

So the team nutritionist needs to work with him to make sure he’s handling things. That’s a failure of the team.

Fasting for your religion is fasting for your religion, period. The comparison is valid, no matter how many slurs you want to throw around.

I’d say this is admirable and I wish more Christian players would put their faith above the game.

I understand your point, but this is a clear example of misplaced priorities coupled with a dose of obnoxious self-righteousness. In this case, why would a faithful Muslim deliberately pursue a career that puts him at odds with the goal of winning football games? Unless of course, it gives him an opportunity to project an inflated sense of self: "Oh, look at me. I'm a faithful Muslim, so you better change all the rules to suit me."

Beyond that, what will be next? Will he demand that he not be interviewed by female sportcasters? Insist that all stadiums point towards Mecca? Demand that a game in play be suspended so that he can pray on the 50-yard-line?

I, too, can not condemn him for this and Chariots of Fire also came to mind .

It was a huge deal during the World Series, and he took a lot of heat for it. You and I should probably leave this topic alone and talk about Tim Tebow.

He’s plays for the Vikings, he’s got a guaranteed 9 dome games a year (8 at home plus one in Detroit).

What slurs? Point out the worldwide Jewish movement that is looking to impose religious laws on all. Islam allows rape, lying, and extortion. It calls for the dominance and ultimate destruction of Christianity. Do you even realize what you are supporting?
