Letterman on O’Reilly: You Can't "Be As Smart As He Is And Actually Believe What He Believes”
Eyeblast TV / The Blast ( Media Research Center) ^ | 8/4/2010

David Letterman took a jab at Bill O’Reilly while hosting MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow on his show saying ” I don’t think you can be as smart as he is and actually believe what he believes”, his theory is driven by the idea that he only does it for the money.

Of course, Letterman is not only taking a shot at O’Reilly, but at Conservative beliefs in general– which no doubt made his ultra left-leaning guest feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Letterman said, ” I have a theory about Bill O’Reilly, smart guy, and I think he knows better than what he’s doing– but he’s just found a place to make a living. He’d be a weatherman if the money was right, or he’d do sports if the money was right. He’s just doing this because that’s where the money is. I don’t think you can be as smart as he is and actually believe what he believes.”

Since this is letterman, does this have to do with cheap shot Palin jokes?

Why was Letterman talking to Elton John about O’Reilly?

Dave’s right!
Bill MUST be more conservative than he lets on.
He simply plays the middle-of-the-road game for ratings.

” ... but he’s just found a place to make a living. He’d be a weatherman if the money was right, or he’d do sports if the money was right. He’s just doing this because that’s where the money is. “

I don’t like Letterman, he’s a bitter old lefty. However, the quote that I cite there, is spot on. Many have said so much here on FR.

It’s amazing how dumb liberals can be. They see they want to see or they see what they are really about. It’s called projection.

"Letterman on O’Reilly: You Can't "Be As Smart As He Is And Actually Believe What He Believes”"

The flip side of that coin is that you can be as dumb as Letterman and believe what he believes.

Wasn’t Letterman a weatherman on a local Indianapolis TV station early in his career ?

So I guess he should know about just doing it for the money.

O'Reilly and Letterman aren't too unalike in that they're both dirtbag misogynists.

I have to agree just a little with Letterman on O’Reilly. I have always thought he sounded like a Liberal who decided to make a lot of money doing talk TV/radio but he is smart enough to know that you can’t make as much money doing liberal talk as conservative. Sometimes his position on a subject is jarring and doesn’t fit with his stated views. He will take some static from his fans and maybe get a little praise from the left and he either shuts up about the subject altogether or he is quiet for a time then comes back out on the right side of it. Other times he maintains his position until he starts to lose listeners then shuts up about it. He does not automatically know which side of something is the “right” side and flails a bit sometimes.

What I can’t really beleive is that so many who believe the left lies could possibly think they were at all smart? That confuses me!

A broken watch is right twice a day, so I guess Letterman can be right at least one time.

It's too bad Lettterman didn't retire before he came out of the wack leftist liberal closet, I used to enjoy watching his show while I was in school.

Who says Dave was joking?

Libs say that all the time to people to put them down. “Gee I thought you were smarter than that.” “Wow, I’m surprised you believe that, I thought you were a smart guy.” “I thought you were more intelligent than to believe that.”
