The law of unintended consequences has struck again as mega health insurance provider Blue Cross Blue Shield was informed today by government lawyers that they will have to change the name of their company if they wish to remain in compliance with the new health care reform legislation. This decision is based largely on a recent landmark lawsuit against the United States in which the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals agreed that plaintiff -famous atheist and part time human being- Michael Newdows civil rights had been violated by Blue Cross Blue Shields use of Christian imagery in their company name and logo. This court further established that as the group, thanks to health care reform, is now a defacto state agency they could not maintain such imagery without running afoul of past court decisions in regard to the matter of separation of Church and State.
Spokespersons for the insurance giant have issued a statement claiming that they will not appeal the decision. They have also notified the general public that, so as to remain in compliance with the governments policy on restricting the use of religious symbolism, they will henceforth be known as Blue Crescent Blue Star . This news was greeted with great appreciation by Newdow who called the decision proof positive that even in this cynical age miracles can occur.
This is actually really funny on many levels !
Seperation of Church and State - I just about lost it !
That has got to be the most RIDICULOUS thing I have ever read! This is OUT OF CONTROL!
Darnit, how did I miss that?
Separation Seperation of Church and State
There, fixed it.
ROFLMAO!
Actually had me right up to the end. Good one!
Thanks for wasting my time.
Thanks!
Christ almighty, this country is going insane.
LOL, fortunately this is satire . . . for now.
Haha, you might be onto something. Oddly enough, as I write this, our reporters are running down the facts on a story about the ADA laws being used to force Amazon to produce a braille version of the Kindle.
The poster didn’t have the courtesy to put “Satire” in the title.
No civil rights were violated. What’s happening here is the crowd that wants to destroy Western Civilization is using every means possible to eradicate Christian symbols.
This country is in deep poop.
I was about to blow a head gasket until I realized it was in jest.
Had me, too. Until the atheist says a “miracle” occurred. Was wondering “who” performed this miracle.
This is really funny!
Newdow grew up in the Bronx and Teaneck, New Jersey, from where his nominally Jewish family moved in 1960.
Thank you!
