REAL-UNEMPLOYMENT REACHES MORE THAN 1/3RD OF THE POPULATION?
Who would have thought that unemployment within a segment of the American population would reach nearly 35%?! It may seem impossible for our economic situation to seem even more dire, but FOR MINORITIES, REAL UNEMPLOYMENT in an already fragile economy IS APPROACHING MORE THAN ONE OUT OF EVERY THREE!
Although the current state of the economy as a whole is debatable, and perhaps more debatable is the future outlook, the outlook for minorities is not going to change without a little boost. . .
ONLY WE CAN CHANGE OUR OWN NEIGHBORHOODS AND ECONOMIES!
THE NATIONAL PUERTO RICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCEs goal is to grow minority-owned businesses, but despite programs that provide financing and mentorship to grow business and support the economy, WE CANT DO IT ALONE.
If we want to stop our reliance on government or state sponsored welfare, on the financial well-being of giant corporations, on the benevolence of the political tides of the day, WE HAVE TO BUILD AND PROMOTE OUR OWN ECONOMIES. The recent recession has proven that we cannot rely on our government to intercede on our behalf . . . we are just going to have to do it ourselves.
If you need help getting that idea off the ground, dont hesitate to ask. Many of our services, including finding grants and financing opps, are entirely free. If you already have a successful business, let us help you advertise!
And if you really want to help someone less fortunate, DONATE HERE. 100% of your donation will go to help a new start-up that we have filtered and vetted, ensuring its potential for success.
So, quit hoping it gets better and actually do something to make it better.

Thus those outside the minority communities jump to the wrong conclusions about those communities and go out of their way to alienate those communities.
I’d hire more local minorities for seasonal work. Our store is on the edge of the ‘hood’ and within walking distance for many young men who need a job.
However, every time we have hired from that area, they either don’t show up for work, show up high, steal from us, try to break into the store at night, bring all of their gang banger friends in on their day off to the case the joint and shoplift, etc.
I’d love to help, but the culture is so totally removed from the reality of being a functioning, productive member of society that I’m not sure the gap can be bridged.
Just my 2-cents from the trenches.
And, I know. You don’t have to tell me. I’m a mean, heatless Capitalist, working on keeping minorities down! *SMIRK*
“FOR MINORITIES, REAL UNEMPLOYMENT in an already fragile economy IS APPROACHING MORE THAN ONE OUT OF EVERY THREE!”
This is why I can’t understand why Obama’s approval rating among blacks still exceeds 90%. Can’t they connect the dots and see what his economic and domestic policies are doing to their chances of employment?
But didn’t they all learn how to fill out a resume at Midnight Basketball?
Is that program still funded?
Brietbart made a great point about that last week.
when the NAACP accused him and the tea parties of being racist he said that him and the Tea Parties have only been around a year and the NAACP has been around for 40 or 50 years.
Hiring new employees is always a game of playing the odds.
A certain percentage will never be a good fit for the job.
To stay in business, the employer must play the odds. Take an example totally apart from race. Alcoholics have high odds of not being a good fit for the job. Yet a minority of alcoholics are in fact very good employees. Should one discriminate against alcoholics? I have on occasion while on other occasions I have taken a chance and it never worked out.
College degree is a requirement for every job I’ve had since leaving Vietnam. But I have no degree. Employers take a chance on me.
The big problem with these generalizations is that the small number of good people in that same demographic group are penalized by the bad character of the majority in that demographic group.
But the employer who can find a way to find those exceptions to the rule has found a goldmine.
Example, the term STATES RIGHTS is stupidly used by some conservative Republicans. This is a term of the big government Democrats of the KKK. They used that term to define the RIGHT of big government to control the lives of individuals, namely fomer slaves. Blacks understand the correct meaning of the term. Conservatives who use it are stupid and don't understand how the term is totally contrary to the conservative position. When conservatives use the term, they naturally sound KKK racist because they are using a KKK term intended to be racist.
Of course, states have no rights. Only individual persons have rights.
Another example since the article is from a Puerto Rican group.
Most elected governors of Puerto Rico have been Republican in my lifetime. Up through 2002 the position of all Republicans has been for statehood for Puerto Rico and against the current colonial status. The traditional Democrat position has been for the current colonial status. Only 1 or 2% of Dems on the extreme left favor independence.
But recently the anti-illegal immigrant voices in the GOP have opposed statehood for Puerto Rico and labeled it “amnesty” despite the fact that Puerto Ricans are citizens and not immigrants. Thus in the Puerto Rican community the Republicans have alienated the 49% of Puerto Rican Republicans who favor statehood and the 49% who are Dems and favor colonial status.
We can’t blame the media or Dems when we commit suicide.
