Marco Rubio: I don’t want any state adopting the Arizona illegal immigration law

Rubio and Cavuto spent a fair amount of time discussing the new Arizona illegal immigration law, allowing Rubio to clarify where he stands on the new law. I dont think he stands in a place that will give most of his voters any problem, which is that he supports Arizonas 10th amendment right to protect their state. He made a great distinction in that he sees the law as a public safety law and not an anti-immigrant law which is how it is being cast in the MSM. And thats exactly what it is, and public safety is exactly why it was drafted.
He puts a very heavy emphasis on not wanting any other state to adopt that type of law though, saying that it should be the Federal governments job to enforce it. He recognizes Arizonas special situation with a war just on the other side of the border, but stands firm in his commitment that only the Federal government should handle illegal immigration. I mostly agree with him on his position, but would add that if Texas wanted to adopt the law I wouldnt have a problem with it because I feel we have a Federal government not interested in protecting the border. If they indeed were doing their job and doing it well, then we wouldnt be having this discussion at all.
Great interview all the way around. They also touch on his campaign and his position on entitlement reforms.

So it's OK if these illegals move to Kansas or Colorado then since those states aren't on the border?

Clever man, he knows the Feds won’t enforce it.

The federal government IS NOT GOING TO DO IT!! They may make a few halfarsed pretend efforts but the idea is to use illegals as a lever to force social change.
Cloward and Pivens need more warm bodies!

The States help enforce the federal law by apprehending violators. The federal government then has the responsibility of prosecuting and deporting the illegal immigrants. The federal government has fallen down on both the apprehension and prosecution. That states are picking up the slack can only be good in the way it makes it evident to all that the federal government is failing to do its job. This is why folks in the federal government dislike laws like that of Arizona: it demonstrates the federal government's malfeasance. If anything, this is why Rubio should support all states passing laws like that of Arizona.
There's an enemy of the nation in the United States and it isn't any one of the States. The Founding Fathers were quite clear in identifying it as an out of control and unaccountable national government.

The Feds need to do their Constitutional job and protect the USA from enemies foreign and domestic (i.e our borders). But the RATS disrespect the USC in many ways.
And even many Republicans/Conservatives don’t seem to care much about Article II, Section 1 much. At least they label those of us who do ‘crazies.’
So who will lead us back to the rule of law? Jim Demint and Jan Brewer for POTUS/Veep.

MARCO MARCO MARCO.....playing words games again. If the 10th amendment is so damn good for one state, it’s good enough for other 49 (or 56 if you’re Obama).

but stands firm in his commitment that only the Federal government should handle illegal immigration *Should* is the operative word here, Marco. A lot of things *should* be, but they aren't and never will be.
Real Americans should be free from fear of their federal government. That certainly isn't the reality.
A very weaselly statement in my opinion.

Mealymouthed pussyfooting & `on the one hand/on the other hand’ equivocation. He’ll go far in the GOP.
He should spend more time with Jeff Sessions and less with the open border homos.

“The federal government IS NOT GOING TO DO IT!!”
Then we Conservatives need to take back over the federal government. Perhaps that’s a presupposition of Rubio’s comments. But he should make that explicity clear.
