This past Saturday during Glenn Beck’s final “American Revival” stop in Salt Lake City, he told those in attendance that he might be going blind.
“I can’t focus my eyes”, Beck said during his keynote speech. While taking a jab at health care reform he continued, “I went to the best doctor I could find, while I could still go to the best doctor I can find.”
Beck said that he’s been diagnosed with macular dystrophy and said that his doctor had told him he could go blind within the next year.

This is terrible news for Glenn. When I had my laser surgery on my retina in 2000 my eye Dr told me yes it is a big deal and can lead to blindness but just be glad there is a treatment to stop it and be really glad that you don’t have Macular degeneration. IIRC they can slow it down but they can’t stop it.
I’ve noticed his glasses lately. He used to wear them and not wear them.. Now he wears them all the time. It’s a shame because he loves to read. No matter what, he can still do his show.. I’ll miss the chalkboard lessons. PRAY FOR GLENN BECK.
yes, us too but while going blind would be terrible...it won’t affect his brain or his voice. He can STILL expose those who need exposing.
Surely Glenn has been checked for diabetes...
If I were him, I’d get a second, third and fourth opinion. I don’t have the same eye disease, but when I was diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy, I was told I would be going blind. I found another doctor who has been able to successfully treat the disease. It’s not cured, but the vision loss has been halted.
If true, I wish him the best and hope that a cure is found or at least something to stop the process. Blindness would be one of the worst disabilities to befall someone, though I understand deafness is more handicapping.
One of the problems with Beck for me has been his tendency to enjoy yanking people’s chains. I used to listen to his radio show 10 years or so back, and one of the funnier bits he did was pretending that he didn’t know JFK Jr. had been killed in a plane crash. He purposely kept telling callers that no, it wasn’t JFK Jr., it was John Denver. He carried on the routine longer than Rush did with his show announcing he was voting for Bill Clinton (in 1992).

This sounds like Heavy Metal Poisoning. It can effect eyes and other parts of the body... OK Tin foil on!
Long shot, but I’ve been reading about Computer Eye Syndrome. It causes you to be unable to focus as well...but surely his doc is a good one. I wish it would turn out just to be CES.
