I'm watching "A few good men" right now for the gazilionth time"
And it keeps getting funnier every single time I see it.
My favorite movie “Against All Odds.”
Because it has everything in it. A fantastic underrated performance by the young James Woods. Football. The politics and finance of football ownership. My beloved hometown in one of its heydays (L.A. in the 80s). Great dialogue. Dirty lawyers. The best sportscar chase scene on film on the best street in the world on which to do it (Sunset Blvd). Tropical jungles. Sex in tropical jungles and on beaches. Murder. Gun fight. Racism. And the second best* modern “acting with eyes only” last scene in a movie, with a song to go perfectly with it by Phil Collins in HIS heyday. A scary dog. And a silly song by Kid Creole and the Coconuts. What more could ANYONE want in a film??
* best is Owned by Bob Hoskins in The Long Good Friday. Acting with eyes only is very underrated.
Oh, yeah. That scene where Gary Cooper is shirtless in the quarry, holding that big steam drill, and Patricia Neal gives him that look of desire, and then the scene cuts back to the steam drill, panning down its length suggestively, cut back to Neal’s passion-painted face, cut to big, long, hard steam drill... man, that’s comedy gold.
You like watching sweaty men on horseback?
/ducking
Do you detect a pattern yet?”<
Did you forget Brokeback Mountain? LOL, Just funnin ya...
The Outlaw Josie Wales, Gladiator, Godfather and Patton for me. I'm sure there are more, but those are the top of the list. OK, one more, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Still cracks me up.
My daughter says “Donnie Darko”.
I pretty much would re-watch anything. According to my wife.
Zulu
Count of Monte Cristo
Arsenic and Old Lace
Dune
Longest Day
Just for a few. Oh yeah, early Bond movies.
Well, I am Catholic... :)
Amen on all the Mel Brooks movies! High Anxiety in addition to the ones you name.
Anything Python - Life of Brian, Holy Grail, and the Meaning of Life.
Some other favorites are Heaven Can Wait (Warren Beatty), Fried Green Tomatoes, Dracula (the Frank Langella one), American Werewolf in London, any of the old musicals such as King and I, Oklahoma, Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, etc., etc.
When I was a kid (and we only had 3 TV stations, 2 with good reception) they would show old Shirley Temple movies occasionally on Sundays. I always enjoyed those over and over. Same with African Queen.
Too many others to count that I saw mentioned above such as The Godfather, The Right Stuff - all excellent.
Master And Commander, Defiance, The Last Samurai, Apocalypto, Braveheart, The Patriot, 300, Hannibal, The Hurt Locker, The Silence Of The Lambs, Red Dragon, Shooter.
If I listen to a song on YOUTUBE, is that THEFT?
If I borrow YOUR DVD of '3 MEN AND A BABY' to watch, is that theft?
Patton
Goodfellas
The Godfathers I and II
Goodbye, Lenin
The Great Escape
One, Two, Three
Europa, Europa
Field of Dreams still feels special to me and I'm not a big Baseball Fan. Go figure.
The Ten Commandments, Charleton Heston
Stagecoach (John Wayne/Claire Trevor)
Tombstone
Connagher
Pale Rider
High Plains Drifter
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
The Searchers

I’ve watched “A Few Good Men” a zillion times, too, and hope I have the pleasure of watching it a zillion more times. It’s a fine movie.
The Hustler”
My 19 year old grandson’s favorite - next to Live Free and Die Hard - which plays regularly at our house. Bet we’ve seen The Hustler 20 times already this year. On Golden Pond is right up there at the top for me.
