DUmmie FUnnies 07-09-11 (Rush Limbaugh Reads Article By DUFU Author)
DUmmie FUnnies ^ | July 9, 2010 | Rush Limbaugh and PJ-Comix

WOW!!! An incredible day for your humble correspondent. A little after 2:00 P.M. I am driving in the car and suddenly hear Rush begin referencing a VERY familiar article. Familiar because I wrote it. At first Rush didn't get my name right so I was yelling out my name as if he could hear it and correct himself. However, he soon got my name exactly right. Here is that portion from the Rush Limbaugh Show TRANSCRIPT:

By the way, for those of you, the familial audience here (and you know this), when I say, "I wonder if my audience realizes how fortunate they are," what you know is that that's a media tweak. I'm saying that 'cause I want the left to say, "Do you realize what Limbaugh said? He actually said he wonders if his audience realizes how fortunate they are!" You and I know what's going on here. This is the dirty little secret. In fact there's a guy. P. J. Rednick? J. P. Bladnick? J. R. Ewing? Let me find it. P. J.? It's in the DC Examiner. Where did I put the...? P. J. Gladnick I think it is. Yeah, here it is. "The Rush Limbaugh Challenge," P. J. Gladnick. "I have found a fascinating phenomenon among liberals. They feel free to harshly criticize Rush Limbaugh yet rarely, if ever, listen to him. And when they do hear him it is in carefully selected brief excerpts or in second- or third-hand accounts. This leads to a lot of misconceptions on their part.

You can read the original article about the Rush Limbaugh Challenge in the Washington Examiner HERE. If you notice, the Rush Limbaugh Challenge is open only to non-moonbat leftists which leaves our own troglaman out. But don't feel bad, Troggy. None of the DUmmies qualify either. However, enough about the trog. Back to my favorite subject...MEEEEEEE!!!! And here Rush mentions your humble correspondent again in his conclusion:

So here's P. J. Gladnick urging people to take the "Rush Limbaugh Challenge." This is in the DC Examiner opinions on yesterday afternoon. It cleared about four o'clock in the afternoon, and the point is that he's right.

The strange thing is that until I heard Rush today I was in a bad mood. Luck did not seem to be happening for me in a project I was working on. However, as soon as I heard Rush, my luck instantly changed. Everything went my way. I am only sorry I didn't make a beeline for the Casino. With that Rush Luck working for me I bet I could have won a bundle at the Cleopatra slot machine.

Now I am wondering if the Rush Luck will work its mojo for DUFU co-conspirator Charles Henrickson who is now attending the big Lutheran (LCMS) convention in Houston where they are getting ready to either re-elect their current president or choose a new president. Got that? Choose a NEW president. I mention no names so as not to jinx it but you can probably guess who I am rooting for.

One final note. The experience of having Rush mention your name and read your article over national radio is certainly surreal. It was kind of like having a giant invisible finger pointing out of the radio directly at you.

Okay, we will soon return you to the regular DUFUs.

Congratulations!!

Any idea when we might be hearing the outcome of the Houston matter?

Congratulations PJC

I couldn’t listen to Rush for three hours a day for a month.

One I don’t have the time to spare and two he often gets way off track and wastes the few valuable minutes a day when I do turn the show on.

He is brilliant on occasion, but finding those moments I will leave to others and read the best of Rush. Now if I could get a readers digest version of FR, I would be in heaven.

BTW, golf isn’t on for awhile. Think I’ll go outside myself, clean my clubs, organize my golf trunk caddy, and have an Ashton Churchill. Oh, then there’s that WT101...

Wife has been out of work since the end of March and we’ve had to make my paycheck stretch.

Don't forget the coupons. Make your food bill really low. Speaking of which...I just got a bunch of Einstein Bros. coupons. The thin bagel sandwiches (turkey/bacon) is really outstanding. Normally $4.25 but with coupon only $1.99. Plus they have a 50% off a bucket of bagels coupon for the weekends. These coupons will come out tomorrow but I was able to get them today. If you never had it before, you definitely want to check out the sandwich I mentioned. Absolutely OUTSTANDING!

Oh yeah, and I got several dozen Musselman apple sauce bottles via coupons for just 20 cents each. Got a headache? I picked up a dozen boxes of Aleve this morning for FREE via coupons. Meanwhile my supply of almost free Smart Balance milk is almost gone. Since it requires refrigeration I couldn’t stock up on it as much as I wanted. Looking forward to the free steaks again but the coupon stars are not currently in proper alignment.

Well, I got my clubs cleaned and had a cigar. Not a very happy moment. I realized when I got out there, my buddy Hans wouldn’t be with me as usual. My first cigar without him. Now it’s time for that drink. I could use one...

July is the month for beer. Good thing LCMS Lutherans are allowed to drink because that humid stifling heat in Houston must be getting to them. A nice ice cold brewski is perfect for that situation. Now imagine if the Southern Baptists had their convention in Houston now. You know they would be dying for a cold beer but wouldn’t be able to drink...in front of the others.

I think I am turning into a human Kril (see "Forbidden Planet"). I already got a bunch of FREE Lea & Perrins 5 oz Worcester sauce bottles but this afternoon I got to thinking that I would really prefer the 10 oz bottles. I had that thought when my phone rang. It was Al, a fellow couponer. He told me how I could now get the 10 oz Lea & Perrins bottles. Splitting out in a few minutes to pick up a few dozen of them. My steaks will have the sauce for slathering them for the next year.

p.s. Can L&P Worcester sauce be used as a marinade?

Congratulations, PJ! I heard it while listening to Rush in the car and also was yelling your name out to him! It made me all giddy to hear him read your excellent article! Then I started thinking that Rush probably did know your correct name and was just goofing a bit. I’d bet he reads the FUnnies regularly!

I just picked up 40 10 oz bottles of Lea & Perrin since last post. Will check on how it works as a marinade. BTW, I might have worked a deal on getting dozens of FREE fresh baked bagels on an almost daily basis.
