Conservatives: is voting patriotic? (/sarcasm)

As the September elections approach, and all you right wing republicans, truck drivers, and people named "Roy" start thinking they have a shot at taking over the government, I would like to ask you a very important question: is voting really patriotic?

I ask you this not to disuade you from voting because I, like all liberals who believe in abortion, think it is VERY patriotic. Like all liberals who think that white/rich/farmers should be taxed until they are driven onto welfare, I think voting is the right thing to do for all progressive-minded people. Why? Because for one day out of the year, it forces you to stop being an individual and to join the faceless masses of non-persons called "voters", so that you can give a person you don't even know complete power over everyone and every thing!

As I say, I do not ask "is voting patriotic?" because I want to make you question voting this September. Rather, I ask it because I know that so-called "conservatives" believe in individualism, and in not killing babies, and in letting everyone have guns. Did you know that you can't bring guns to voting booths? You can't....if that makes you question the patriotism of voting, then I am honor bound to tell you so that you can make your own decisions, INDIVIDUALLY.

May Jesus Christ go with you all, and guide you to the right solution for you all as individuals. May Mary and the blessed babe and He Who Shall Not Be Named help you to avoid any unnecessary driving required on election day if it is not completely necessary...

Scary glimpse into the liberal/socialist mind. They truly believe the government should have "complete power over everyone and everything" ... This is why I vote - conservative.

Socialism sucks. Socialism has a 100% failure rate throughout history as a means of governing a population that is happy and productive. Of course, today's so-called liberals nee socialists would tell you that record is just because the right people haven't been in charge - ie. them.

The "liberals" aka socialists believe we are much more intelligent and enlightened than before, and that socialism could work, now. Of course, that is what every generation to "discover" the ideas and ideals of socialism believes, and they have all been wrong. We may be more technically savvy in many fields, but fundamentally the human animal hasn't changed a whole lot.

Socialism still sucks, and will still fail each and every time a society tries it or it is imposed upon a society. Today's socialists don't want to believe that. These are people who have fallen in love with an ideal. Sadly, love is blind to many faults and today's adherents to socialism refuse to accept that socialism will never work. Maybe they just can't admit they are wrong. Maybe they cling to a childish belief that the world is fair. They all need a slap in the face and a wake up call that the world is not fair. There are mean spirited people in it who would rule over their fellow man. Therefore deliberately and strictly limited governments are our best protection - from ourselves.

I thought these jerks thought it was kewl to be “non-conformists”.

So why do they vote en block for the fascist du jour?

I ask not to dissuade them but to shame them with their own hypocrisy. /sarc

Choices for every election should include “none of the above”. (Yes, I know- that’s what the write-in line is for...)

OK. I can understand the call out to Jesus (even though the author obviously doesn't believe) and even the call to Mary, but for heaven's sake why is he calling out Lord Voldemort. Does he really think "Harry Potter" is real?

I'm torn between thinking that liberalism makes people stupid or that only stupid people can adhere to liberalism.
